Position Overview:

1.0 FTE Special Education teaching position to work with students with disabilities at Park Terrace Elementary, grades K-4.

Primary Responsibilities:

Duties of this job include, but are not limited to…creating and delivering ability and age appropriate lessons in a setting 2/3 classroom;

  • collaborating with another teacher and paraprofessionals in order to meet students’ needs;
  • communicating with parents to provide regular updates on student successes and challenges;
  • collaborating with principals, special education coordinator and staff, and professional learning communities,
  • to ensure student needs are being met;
  • maintaining student records of services provided, following Due Process best practices and compliance;
  • participate in IEP and evaluation summary meetings; and
  • perform other related duties, as assigned

Experience:

Desired previous experience/knowledge includes…successfully working with students with Emotional Behavior Disorders (EBD), Autism Spectrum Disorders, or Other Health Disabilities, and a strong desire to do so;

  • writing solid Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs);
  • applying current trends in the field of behavior interventions and support;
  • utilizing standardized assessment tools;
  • effectively collaborating with a team; and
  • constructively communicating with parent/guardian and team members.

Qualifications:

  • A current Minnesota Special Education Teaching License in ABS, EBD, or ASD.
  • The ability to lift up to 50 pounds (and/or up to adult-size body weight with two-to-three-person lift).

Auditorium Manager

Job Summary:  To inspire and prepare each and every scholar to achieve their dreams; contribute to community; and engage in a lifetime of learning.  To coordinate all auditorium events to assure smooth operation during and outside the regular school day and to maintain the inventory of sound, lighting, and other equipment needs.

Responsibilities and tasks include:

Assist in the scheduling of events and staff in the auditorium.
Effectively operate the sound board, light board, and other basic equipment in the auditorium.
Set up and facilitate consultations with permit holders.
Select, train, manage, and provide work direction to Auditorium Technicians.
Provide excellent customer service.
Monitor for safety and arrange for any necessary maintenance or repairs.
Maintain the inventory list of current equipment/supplies as well as equipment supplies needed.
Be present during events as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities include:

Experience with high-end theater sound and lighting systems.
Ability to work and communicate with people of diverse backgrounds.
Excellent organizational skills.
Rate of Pay: $24/hour

Community Education Building Supervisor

Accommodating users who are without permits; notifying Community Education Facilities Scheduling about contact and event information.
Problem-solving permit and user issues.
Reviewing facility permits to determine authorized users and schedule of events; determining and setting up any special equipment or supplies requested by permitted users.
Completing and submitting required reports (e.g., no-shows) to Community Education Facilities Scheduling.
Responsibilities and tasks include:

Greeting guests and providing directions to event locations.
Monitoring the activities of individuals who use the facilities or attend events.
Accommodating whenever possible the special requests that users may have that were not anticipated.
Responding promptly to requests from colleagues and community members.
Communicating in a manner that serves to diffuse confrontations.
Minimum Qualifications include:

High School diploma or GED
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities include:

Controlling access to spaces as needed and authorized by permit.
Ensuring that all facility users have left the premises at the completion of the scheduled events.
Assisting facility users with event tear down – restoring facility to neat and original condition, notifying custodian of any extra garbage, and noting any equipment or supplies that were broken.
Responding appropriately to emergencies and/or injuries; calling 911 if necessary.
Promptly completing and submitting required reports (e.g., incident reports, blood borne pathogen incident reports) to Community Education Facilities Scheduling.
Remaining alert to potentially unsafe situations and notifying custodian of unsafe conditions; stopping any unsafe or questionable activities.

Rate of Pay: $15/hour

responsible for managing additional elements of HR operations including: Employee relations, LOA’s, workers compensation, vendor relations, HR data integrity and enhancing the overall customer

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This role manages two HR professionals and reports to the Executive Director of Human Resources.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Manages the development, implementation and administration of benefit & compensation programs.
Serve as a strategic partner to the Executive Director of Human Resources and Supervisors across our district community.
Responsible for ensuring integrity and consistency of HR data, as well as the HR technology utilized by the HR team.
Monitors the effectiveness of existing compensation practices and recommends changes that are cost-effective and consistent with compensation trends and organizational objectives.
Assists in managing collective bargaining units.
Building capacity and the development of HR staff.
Employee relations.
Ensuring operational effectiveness and consistency.
Partners with managers and staff on pay decisions, policy interpretations, and job evaluations.
Designs creative solutions to specific compensation-related programs.
Develops and nurtures wellness practices and programs that support the needs of our employees and our self-insured health plan.
Develops techniques for compiling, preparing and presenting data for use in decision making.
Documents and updates practices and procedures related to areas of responsibility.
Active participation in salary surveys and monitors salary survey data to ensure compensation objectives are achieved.
Participation on internal advisory committees.
Ensures compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations.

Required Skills/Abilities:
Highly functional knowledge of federal, state and local regulations and compliance requirements related to employee benefits and compensation.
Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret and communicate data.
Previous experience working with collective bargaining units.
Demonstrated ability to exercise patience and hold others accountable as needed.
Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to use Microsoft products and HRIS software.
Demonstrated experience with change management.
Demonstrated ability to think and act strategically.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business, human resources or related field and at least 4 years of progressively responsible experience in employee benefits and compensation required.
At least 3 years of experience in a supervisor role managing HR professionals.
Knowledge of laws and regulations.
Demonstrated experience with rolling out initiatives and educating customers.
Adept with process improvement to gain efficiencies and enhance the HR customer experience.
Previous experience in the public school sector highly desirable, but not required.
Master’s degree or SHRM certification desirable, but not required.

1.0 FTE Long-term Substitute Early Childhood Teacher – McKinley Center

Job Description: A 1.0 FTE Long-term Substitute Early Childhood teacher position for Falcon’s Nest Preschool, a Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten site at McKinley Center.  Qualified candidates will offer a developmentally appropriate learning environment, with the focus on cognitive, social/emotional, language, literacy, and physical/motor development of students.  This teacher will also work with a classroom paraprofessional to create a warm welcoming environment for parents and children. The position is 5 days a week from 7:30AM-3:30PM. This position commences on November 27, 2023 to approximately February 4th, 2024. Falcon’s Nest Preschool is a part of the Minnesota Centers of Excellence Pyramid Model Innovation Grant.  Applicants with knowledge and experience in a multi-tiered system of support for young learners are preferred.
