Elementary Principal

Job Goal:  The elementary school principal is the learning leader of the school, and is ultimately responsible for establishing, maintaining, and supporting a positive student growth culture.  The elementary principal collaborates with building and District staff to implement curriculum and instructional programs that support every student, every day.  Leading Professional Learning Communities (PLC’s) is at the core of our work, contributing to the success of all learners.

Reports to:  District Administrator.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Supervises all school operations and instructional programming for grades K-5 (575+ students).
  2. Develops, executes, and monitors the annual School Improvement Plan (SIP).
  3. Leads change and has the ability to influence, motivate and model systems thinking for all staff.
  4. Establishes, maintains, and supports a positive student growth culture fostering a shared commitment of high expectations for student growth, achievement, and high standards of teaching and learning.
  5. Provides leadership in the areas of Professional Learning Communities (PLC’s), Positive Behavior Intervention Systems (PBIS), and other research-based frameworks and strategies.
  6. Collaborates with teachers to examine student and school data to measure student learning and growth, identify achievement & opportunity gaps, and develop strategic interventions that improve learning and close identified gaps.
  7. Facilitates reflective practice, inquiry, and action research to identify and monitor the impact of interventions and determine high-yield instructional strategies that improve student growth.
  8. Observes instruction and provides ongoing feedback and coaching to teachers and other staff supporting professional growth leading to high student growth.
  9. Monitors the daily school schedule and ensures instructional time is maximized.
  10. Plans, organizes, and directs implementation of all school sponsored activities.
  11. Assists in the recruiting, screening, hiring, assigning and evaluating of the school’s staff; both certified and support staff.
  12. Participates in administrative team meetings and other such meetings as required or appropriate for successful administration of the school.
  13. Prepares and submits the school’s budget and monitors expenditures to ensure that the budget is balanced.
  14. Keeps the superintendent informed of the school’s activities and events.
  15. The principal is responsible for building strong partnerships with families and community, creating a safe, supportive and inclusive school environment.
  16. Abides by all applicable rules, regulations, policies, and statutes for the position.
  17. Performs other administrative duties as required by the superintendent.

Special Education Deaf Hard of Hearing Teacher

1.0 FTE EARLY CHILDHOOD SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER

Job Description:  Full-time (1.0 FTE) Early Childhood Special Education Teacher with Faribault Public Schools.  This position will work with children ages birth through five; supporting either our home-based birth to 3 program or our preschool programming which includes evaluations, inclusion support, or self-contained classrooms. Faribault ECSE teachers conduct evaluations, develop IFSPs/IEPs, and provide evidence-based special education interventions. Our teams utilize the EQIP model within the birth to 3 programming and the Pyramid Initiative within our preschool programs. Preschool classes are located in two of our elementary buildings and our early learning center which provides our program a variety of class models and locations.

The position commence at the start of the 2024-2025 school year and will be assigned based on interviews with candidates as well as programming needs. You will be supported by a team that includes speech pathologists, occupational and physical therapists, other ECSE teachers, early learning coordinator, and case facilitator.
