Job Title:
1.0 FTE TOSA – .5 FTE Instructional Coach & .5 FTE MSU Minnesota Educators Partnership Coordinator

Essential Functions:

  • Serve as the TOSA for the Minnesota Educators Partnership (MEP) with Minnesota State University, Mankato (MSU,M). The dual role will include responsibilities for Faribault Public Schools (0.5) and responsibilities for MSU,M (0.5).
  • Work closely with the FPS and MSU,M University faculty to communicate goals, align resources and assist in guaranteeing the effectiveness of each teacher candidate placement.
  • Mentor and support the growth of the secondary teaching fellow through the MSU,M partnership, student teachers, district mentor teachers and university students in field experiences; co-planning/teaching, weekly/monthly meetings/coaching conversations/reflection, observations and analysis of student work.
  • Participate in professional development to perform or improve required skills inclusive but not limited to; New Teacher Center Coaching Cycles of Effective Teaching, Cognitive Coaching, Instructional Coaching and other relevant professional development.
  • Lead professional development incorporating learning from the MSU,M partnership.
  • Serve as internal coach for Americorps programs including Math Corps and Reading Corps (shared with the Elementary TOSA). This may include coaching in elementary programs.
  • Attend and engage in Teacher Candidate Support Network and TOSA meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned

Special Education School Psychologist

Special Education Position Opening:  School Psychologist

The Bemidji Regional Interdistrict Council (BRIC), a large special education services cooperative serving 11 member Districts in North Central Minnesota has an opening for a 1.0 FTE School Psychologist for the 2023-2024 school year.  This is a full-time, permanent position.  The BRIC is a well established and highly regarded special education services cooperative serving multiple Districts in North Central and Northwestern Minnesota for over 50 years.   Administrative offices are located in Bemidji, Minnesota.

The BRIC Special Education Services Cooperative maintains four full-time School Psychologists. The School Psychologists provide direct and indirect support services pre-k through grade 12 including working with students at risk and students with special needs including assessment, consultation and collaboration with teachers, parents, guardians, support agencies and providing in-service training on a variety of educational issues.   The BRIC School Psychologists typically travel out to assigned Districts Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday each week.  Wednesdays reserved for in office work at the Cooperative’s Administrative Offices located in Bemidji.

Physical Education Teacher- Middle School

Must hold a valid physical education teaching license in the State of Minnesota. Preferred to also have Health and DAPE licenses.

Teachers must have a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with other staff members, students and parents in providing and promoting positive relationships.

Conduct evaluations, problem solving with the team, participate in Student Assistance Team, Intervention support, and social skills groups. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: Must be fully licensed in the state of Minnesota as a School Psychologist.
Demonstrated aptitude and competence for assigned responsibilities.

School Physical Therapist

JOB GOAL:
The Physical Therapist is responsible for the evaluation, program development, and delivery of physical therapy to eligible students. Responsibilities also include the evaluation of student progress, program evaluation, consultation and training for staff and parents, and liaison services with medical and other outside service agencies.

REPORTS TO:
Director of Student Services

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assess student needs to determine functional level, gross and fine motor abilities and sensory/motor abilities to establish performance baselines.
2. Participate in multidisciplinary team decision making and in writing individual education program goals and relating to therapy required in the educational setting.
3. Develop therapeutic programs to assist the student in the educational setting to include gross motor skill development and mobility.
4. Manage and provide related physical therapy in the educational setting using therapeutic and instructional methods that are appropriate to meet the stated objectives.
5. Provide consultation, in-service and training to teachers, aides, administrators, students and parents about assistive devices, adaptive equipment and classroom adaptations as necessary to promote gross motor movements.
6. Act as a liaison between medical and educational personnel regarding the child’s physical condition and its effectiveness on learning and level of functioning.
7. Document student progress and systematically evaluate the program.
8. Attend student, school and district level meetings as required.
9. Works cooperatively with staff, students, parents and the community.
10. Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Special Education Teacher: Center-Based Behavior Teacher (EBD or ABS)

Mahtomedi Public Schools is looking for a highly motivated special education teacher for our center-based program for students with behavioral needs.  Candidates who are passionate about creating a positive and structured learning environment are encouraged to apply to join our team!

About the Position:

Location:  OH Anderson Elementary School (grades 3-5)

Caseload: Approximately 14 students

Student Eligibility Categories:  EBD, ASD, OHD

Other:  Daily prep and case management time in teacher schedule
Due Process Assistants manage scheduling of meetings and filing paperwork
Large classroom with a small and large breakout/calming area
Full-time school psychologist/department lead at the school
On-site mental health therapist and special education specific mental health practitioner (CTSS)

Position is full-time, part of the teacher bargaining unit.  Salary and benefits part of the Master Agreement.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree; Special Education EBD or ABS teaching license or able to obtain appropriate license from PELSB, Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board

Preferred Experience:

Ability to teach students with significant needs in the areas of social, emotional, behavioral and academic development utilizing a progression of interventions.

The ideal candidate should be passionate about creating a dynamic, highly structured program environment that provides direct instruction to a variety of learning needs with an emphasis on behavioral and academic skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identify the needs of assigned students with disabilities through formal and informal assessments
  • Plan, develop and implement appropriate lessons to ensure the achievement of student growth
  • Communicate with students, parents and staff on a regular basis on student progress
  • Write IEP’s (Individual Educational Plans) and Due Process reports in accordance to MDE regulations
  • Lead and facilitate IEP meetings
  • Create and implement behavior intervention plans
  • Attend department, school and parent meetings
  • Provide program guidance to paraprofessionals
  • Other job-related duties as assigned
