Teaching Assistant Grades K – 5

Minnehaha Academy is hiring Teaching Assistants for our Lower School.

Description:

  • These positions work Monday-Friday. The hours are approximately 8:30-3:30
  • These are hourly positions, 6.5 hours of paid time and an unpaid 30-minute lunch break.
  • The hourly wage will be determined by our Human Resource Director based on education and experience.

 

Purpose:

  • To work in partnership with grade level teachers, developing plans and implementing programs to meet the needs of individual learners, and provide flexibility within the learning environment
  • To provide additional supervision across the Lower School

 

Primary Functions

  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to provide student support and foster student growth; possible responsibilities include:Assess students using in-house assessments, leveling systems, and STAR tests
  • Meet with guided reading groups or literacy circles
  • Provide enriched literacy experiences
  • Deliver and monitor daily Math Facts work, collect data
  • Facilitate small groups to practice skills
  • Assist in preparation and/or delivery of lessons
  • Assist in day-to-day classroom operations

 

Supervision Duties

All Teaching Assistants will be expected to provide supervision during one Lower School lunch period. Additional duties may be available before or after the standard hours.

 

School Psychologist

School psychologists within River Bend Education District are employed for the purpose of enhancing the educational and social emotional development of students. School Psychologists consult with staff members to plan intervention strategies and provide assessment/reassessment evaluation through appropriate testing and diagnostic practices in the areas of intellectual, cognitive, functional, academic, and behavioral domains of child and adolescent development (birth through 22). This position provides the opportunity to work within a psych team allowing for common planning, weekly psych meetings, and support from other school psychologists within the education district.

Class I Paraprofessional – Grades 3-5 (Media Center/School Library)

This position will directly support student needs within the media center/school library at the Intermediate School.  This position is under the direct supervision of the media center licensed specialist. The person in this role is a self-starter, collaborator, and able to work in a fast paced environment.  This person will assist students with book selections, assist with checkouts, shelving books, copying, and other duties as assigned within the school building.

Immigrant Student Liaison

ISD 518 has a grant funded position open for an Immigrant Student Liaison this position will facilitate communication between identified students, their families, and the school district.  The Immigrant Student Liaison encourages and empowers all identified students to become active participants in the educational activities and programs.  The primary purpose of this position is to ensure successful education for all immigrant students. The Immigrant Student Liaison will assist identified students by responding to their needs to successfully transition into our school district.  Support may include connection students to community resources, providing homework assistance/tutoring, providing enrichment opportunities, providing tours for new students, and developing the skills necessary to advocate for their individual, family, and cultural needs within the school system. The ideal candidate should be able to work flexible hours to meet the needs of students and families including some after school or evening hours as required.
This is a part-time hourly position 20-25 hours a week during the school year.  This position is a grant funded position contingent upon annual Title III Immigrant-Children and Youth Grant renewal.

Career Pathways Coordinator

Salary Range/Hourly Rate: an annualized salary of $97,546 or $109,242 for a Career Pathways Coordinator with an active and valid administrative license.

Start Date:  February, 2023-Candidates will be reviewed upon submission with selection starting no sooner than five days following the posting.  The position will remain open until a suitable candidate has been found.

Work week: 12 month 260 Day

Student Level: 9-12 grade, White Bear Lake Area High School

Position Summary:
Performs difficult professional work on developing and supporting career and college opportunities to assist students to identify career and/or college opportunities that provide promise for future job demands. The Career Pathways Coordinator will provide leadership and support to students, teachers and administrators around career and college programs. The Career Pathways Coordinator will provide oversight on grant writing, Career and Technical Education (CTE) programming, and Federal Perkins coordination. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the Building Principals.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor or Master’s Degree
Working knowledge of Career Pathways in a High School Setting

Special Requirements:
Licensed Teacher & Administrator in the State of MN preferred
