Position Location: Chisago Lakes Primary School (Early Childhood, K-1)
Position Purpose
School psychologists provide direct and indirect support and interventions to students, consult with teachers, families, and other school-employed mental health professionals (i.e., school counselors, school social workers) to improve support strategies, work with school administrators to improve school-wide practices and policies, and collaborate with community providers to coordinate needed services. Through their work, school psychologists help SCRED member districts and buildings successfully implement a multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS) framework in order to: improve academic achievement, promote positive behavior and mental health, support diverse learners, create safe, positive school climates, strengthen family-school partnerships, improve school-wide assessment and accountability, and monitor individual student progress in academics and behavior. Essential Duties
Position Summary:
The K-5 Elementary Teacher will serve as a student-centered educator who is a learner and warm demander for all learners. Teacher will establish collaborative & impactful relationships with colleagues, families, and students. Teacher will understand and model best instructional practices, serve as a member of a Professional Learning Community, and ensure high levels of student learning. Candidate must have a learner, inclusionary, and equity-focused mindset and see that their presence has an impact with students and our school environment. Position begins August 2023.
Qualifications:
-Valid MN Elementary Teaching license.
-Student-Centered
-Commitment and belief around ensuring all students learn at high levels.
-Demonstrated use of research based instructional and engagement strategies to meet the continuum of individual learning needs while using data and assessments to guide instructional decisions.
-Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents and students to achieve student learning results.
-Bi-lingual skills in Spanish or Somali desired.
The licensed Special Education teacher works closely with the Student Services Team to support the development and implementation of the special education service delivery model. The teacher serves students who receive special education and forms relationship with their families to ensure learning and success. The teacher will be providing evidence based instructional practices and participating in a collaborative team model.
