BLUE HERON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

POSITION:
Full-Time Head Custodian – Blue Heron Elementary School
8 hours/day – 7 AM to 3:30 PM – 260 days per year – Monday thru Friday
Starting ASAP

JOB DESCRIPTION:
To maintain a safe and clean environment for students and staff. Job involves primarily cleaning
responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. 1st Class Boilers License Required
2. Certificate of good health.
3. Demonstrated aptitude for successful completion of tasks assigned.
4. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

WAGES:
As per the current custodial master agreement. Starting at $27.04/hr. (base $23.78 + Lead $3.26)

Coordinator of Safety and Special Projects

Position Summary:  

Under the direction of the Executive Director of Finance & Operations and the Director of Facilities and Transportation, the Coordinator of Safety and Special Projects is responsible for supervising and coordinating the safety operations of the district to include administrative and instructional areas; responsible for bus safety training; responsible for supervising the use of school district owned or leased vehicles.  The Coordinator of Safety and Special Projects will be assigned additional special projects to support.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to lead and collaborate
  • Minimum of 3 years’ previous facilities management/leadership preferred
  • School/organizational consulting, facilities, safety experience desirable
  • Salary commensurate with experience

Executive Director of Careers, Technology, and Innovation

Position Summary:  Under the direction of the Superintendent, the Executive Director of Careers, Technology and Innovation is responsible for providing leadership, direction and oversight in the development and implementation of careers programs to meet the needs of the community. The Career, Tech and Innovation position will support our current “Pathways to Success” vision to ensure students have access and support for graduation and post-secondary choice.  This position will align a birth-pre-k to adult pathway for students so that each student is supported both academically and socially.  We will deepen our focus and implementation around STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) at the elementary level which provides students with different levels of thinking and learning.  In high school, we would increase our focus on community-based learning, focus on career choice through Naviance and Indicators of Readiness and increase our students’ access to career training and learning through Riverland Community College.

Through our District Goals and Pathways to Success Plan, each student will have an opportunity for support in their learning trajectory.  This opportunity reinforces the need for pre-K through post-secondary choice to develop missing skills and support the extensions of inquiry based and experiential learning

Qualifications:

  • Administrative license required
  • Ability to lead and collaborate
  • Requires a minimum of 5 years in educational leadership positions
  • Career and technical education background desired
  • Salary commensurate with experience

Math Teacher

MATH TEACHER
1.0 FTE – Centennial Area Learning Center- Starting November 8, 2022.
131 Workdays 7:15 AM – 3:15 PM

QUALIFICATIONS:
Must hold a valid 7 – 12 Math teaching license in the State of Minnesota.
Teachers must be able to demonstrate the highest commitment to student achievement and effective development.
Teachers must have the willingness to adapt to becoming part of a total school effort in educating our students.
Teachers must have a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with other staff members, students and parents in providing and promoting positive relationships.
Teachers must be of the highest integrity with a strong commitment to modeling excellence in all aspects of the teacher/student/parent relationships.
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

WAGES:
Candidates will be placed on the teacher contract and will receive benefits according to the CEA
contract.
