Who We Are
Pacelli Catholic School is a small, private nonprofit PreK-12th grade campus of 320 students in Austin, MN. We are a faith-based educational system that embraces Catholic values, service, and high academic and behavioral standards. We are 1:1 IPADS in PK-Grade 3 and 1:1 Chromebooks in Grades 4-12.
This is a long-term substitute position starting August 15th, 2022, and running till November 30th, 2022.
Essential Job Functions
● Developing and administering school curriculum consistent with school mission and objectives;
● Promoting a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to student learning;
● Successfully fostering and supporting an inclusive educational environment;
● Ensuring that student conduct conforms with the school’s standards and policies, and maintains standards needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom;
● Coordinating with other staff members to evaluate and assess curriculum;
● Maintaining a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement and attendance as required by school procedures and applicable laws;
● Providing student feedback and communicating effectively with students and families as appropriate;
● Participating in general homeroom and supervision duties;
● Attending employee meetings, department meetings, collaboration meetings, staff meetings, liturgies, masses, assemblies, and school events;
● Complying with established safety guidelines and participating in safety training.
● Recognizes and supports the unique Catholic Mission of the school by speaking, acting, and instructing consistent with the teachings of the Catholic Church; a teacher may not espouse any doctrine inconsistent with the teachings of the Church.
Minimum Qualifications
● A bachelor’s degree in education from an accredited university
● State of Minnesota Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education
● While a teacher of the Catholic faith is preferred, one is NOT required to be Catholic to apply

Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills
● A working knowledge of and a strong commitment to the mission of fostering lay leadership in the Catholic Church. If a baptized Catholic, must be a practicing Roman Catholic in full communion with the Church
● Excellent communications skills including written, verbal, public speaking, and presentation skills
● Excellent human relations and interpersonal skills; must be a self-starter and be well-organized; must be a team player
● Be available for evening and weekend work as necessary; have reliable transportation
● Be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
● Proficiency in the use of computer technology including word processing and the use of Microsoft Office and related technology; ability to maintain confidentiality
● Flexibility in assessing needs and strategies and adapt appropriately in a ministerial environment
● The ability to successfully complete a criminal history and background check
● Professional bearing and clean and neat personal appearance
● Proven working experience as a kindergarten teacher, kindergarten assistant or teacher aide (preferred, but not necessary)
● Excellent knowledge of child development and latest education theories and practices

● Required to perform repetitive physical tasks such as computer keyboarding, writing, and reading
● Required to monitor students in a variety of locations including those with noise, activity, and inclement weather
