POSITION:
Administrative Assistant – Community Education – 5 hours per day – 7:45 AM to 12:45 PM
251 work days per year – beginning June 2, 2022.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
To provide administrative support for the Director of Community Education and coordinators. To provide support for the Community Education office to ensure timely and accurate completion of routine and non-routine projects.
Performance Responsibilities:
1. Promote and communicate a positive image of Centennial Schools and the Community Education department with internal and external customers.
2. Provide support services for office personnel including coordination and entry of data related to community education classes and facilities use.
3. Receive and route incoming calls and prioritize messages. Maintain confidentiality.
4. Assist with compiling and proofing of marketing materials for community education.
5. Compile, maintain and distribute appropriate manuals and handbooks.
6. Maintain and coordinate facility usage for community education classes and complete required documents.
7. Assist the Director of Community Education in coordinating meetings and events.
8. Maintain registration, enrollment and financial data for Community Education programs.
9. Gather and compile data and/or information for program reports.
10. Provide clerical support in maintaining the budgets, facilitating payments, billings and bank deposits through appropriate channels.
11. Perform other related functions as assigned by the Director of Community Education or other
designated representative.

QUALIFICATIONS:
▪ High school diploma, training and/or experiences as an administrative assistant
▪ Demonstrated customer and human relations skills
▪ Demonstrated proficiency in typing and computer operation
▪ Ability to work independently and prioritize and manage multiple work assignments, meet
deadlines, and maintain confidentiality
▪ Working knowledge of basic office procedures, of equipment operation and of organizational
methods

WAGES/BENEFITS:
As per the current Administrative Assistant master agreement.

Payroll Specialist II

General Purpose of Job: 

To inspire and prepare each and every scholar with with the confidence, courage, and competence to achieve their dreams; contribute to community; and engage in a lifetime of learning.  Under the direction of the Payroll Supervisor, the Payroll Specialist II is responsible for processing, verifying and correcting employee records and codes to assure the proper payment of payrolls according to contracts, plan rules, and applicable legal requirements.  Assists employees with questions, concerns or issues concerning their salary/checks/benefits and resolves any problems or issues; performs maintenance on employee payroll records and/or files to assure the accuracy and completeness of employee payroll records and files.  Member of a confidential team that is responsible for maintaining the integrity of an accurate and timely payroll system.

 

Responsibilities: 

 

1.      Processes, reviews, verifies and corrects employee budget codes, pay rates or other information to ensure employee record accuracy and maintains payroll data of all employee records.

2.      Proofs, audits and verifies data entry of all employee payroll transmittal data and information prior to checks being processed and issued.  Reviews, follows up on and verifies all corrections are made and entered into the payroll system in conjunction with Human Resources Department to ensure employees are accurately compensated per the current terms and conditions of employment contracts.

3.      Receives, sorts and stuffs all employee payroll checks, W2 and other payroll related items.  Alphabetizes, sorts and files all employee time cards, payroll documents, or materials in payroll files.

4.      Responds to questions, forms or calls from other organizations, parties, state agencies (PERA, TRA, etc.) requesting information on various issues such as employment/salary verifications, public assistance, social security, unemployment benefit, etc.

5.      Researches, verifies, addresses, explains and/or assists employees with questions or concerns regarding payroll checks, benefits, or entitlements.  Works through payroll issues, resolves problems or differences, requests stop payments or issues corrected payroll check.

6.      Matches, reconciles and ensures benefits are correct in order to accurately distribute funds into the finance system.

7.      Performs other comparable duties of a like or similar nature as assigned.

Communication Arts Teacher (2 Positions)

Interpreter – Grades 3-5

Class I Paraprofessionals – Grades 3-5

Position Purpose
Under the direct supervision of a certified staff member, to assist certified professional staff with students in the classroom to meet instructional goals and objectives, and to free certified professional employees from non-professional duties such as proctoring study halls to enable them to make a contribution to other aspects of the educational program, such as curriculum development.

Essential Job Functions

Assists and guides students to reinforce reading, language arts, mathematics, computer instruction, and other skills.
Works with students individually and in small groups to reinforce basic learning and implement assigned programs.
Assists professional staff in the administration and correction of classroom exercises, tests and assessments.
Assists in classroom preparations and strategies for reinforcing instructional materials and skills according to individual student needs.
Assists with record-keeping procedures to document student learning and performance.
Assists with classroom behavioral management to minimize disruptions, ensure a safe and orderly classroom, and ensure students are on task.
Assists students in non-instructional areas, such as supervising the student lunch programs, bus duty, playground duty, corridor, study hall, and other related non-instructional areas.
Accompanies students on field trips for the purpose of assisting with supervision.
Constructs, copies and distribute and use educational materials as needed.
Assists teacher with parent contact as requested to foster effective and participatory parent involvement in student education.
Assists students with special needs in all aspects of classroom instruction to maximize inclusion, learning, achievement if IEP objectives, etc.
Participates in IEP process and serves as resource for the student personnel evaluation team as needed.
Assist students with physical or mental disabilities with activities of daily living for the purpose of maximizing their ability to participate in school or learning activities.
Follows all applicable safety rules, procedures and regulations governing the proper manner of assistance for all students, including those with disabilities or other special needs.
Additional Duties:Assist guidance, pupil services staff or building administration, as needed.
Perform any other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications Profile
Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying.  Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:High School diploma or equivalent.
Successful completion of college level coursework or passing of examination as required by the No Child Left Behind Act.
Prior experience working with special needs children desirable.
