Job Description:                   1.0 FTE Special Education ABS, DCD or ASD Teacher at Jefferson Elementary.  This position commences on 8/22/22 with the start of the 2022-23 school year.

Faribault Public Schools is a rural Pre-K through Adult School District located about 50 miles south of the Twin-Cities. The school district currently serves approximately 3,700 students in Faribault and our surrounding areas within our community of 23,000 citizens within the city limits. Middle School Assistant Principal

Essential Functions: The Assistant Principal assists the Principal in managing the school’s educational and instructional programs, operations, and personnel to ensure the educational, emotional, social, and physical needs of all students. The candidate selected for this position works with the principal and other support personnel to build positive relationships with students, staff and community members; while collaborating and communicating effectively to facilitate meaningful relationships, and provide innovative leadership through our educational offerings. Development of building policies and procedures dealing with behavior management, and parent/student/teacher issues.
Development of the building of the Master Schedule, determining assignment of teachers, students and locations.
Supervision & coordination of registration procedures.
Coordination and monitoring of student databases, attendance procedures and records.
Foster middle school achievement through coordination and supervision of student personnel services to ensure student’s educational needs are met.
Coordination & monitoring grade reporting procedures and maintenance of student records.
Resolve operational problems of the school in the absence of the Principal.
Integral member of the district leadership team serving on district and community committees.
Facilitate Problem Solving Team.
Supervision of paraprofessionals.
Perform related duties as apparent or assigned.
Assist in developing, implementing, and evaluating instructional programs and activities at the assigned school.
Supervises school personnel for the purpose of monitoring performance, providing for professional growth and achieving overall objectives of the school’s curriculum.
Assists in curriculum development and instructional leadership to meet the needs of all students
Knowledge and experience with data analysis to guide teachers in classroom practice and instructional strategies
