Job Summary: Under the direction of the Executive Director of Human Resources, the Director of Labor Relations, Human Resources works in a shared leadership model with another Human Resources Director. The Director of Labor Relations, Human Resources, is expected to provide broad program oversight and administration in assigned areas: development of personnel policies, benefits and compensation, procedures and strategic planning, collective bargaining, grievance administration, management support and assistance to district administrators in matters pertaining to personnel administration, compliance reporting, staff development, and employee relations or other human resource programs and initiatives as delegated by the Executive Director.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Labor Relations – Oversee the elements of formal labor-management relations including protected activities, unfair practices, union organizing, collective bargaining and contract administration.
- Employee services – Direct, plan, and coordinate the operations of employee engagement, benefits and compensation.
- Support hiring managers – Work with the Human Resources Leadership team to support hiring managers.
- Strategic human resource leadership – Work with the Human Resource Leadership Team to manage human resources strategic planning to align with the district’s mission.
