Job Summary: Inspire and prepare each and every scholar with the confidence, courage and competence to achieve their dreams; contribute to community; and engage in a lifetime of learning by overseeing and supervising all custodial and maintenance activities within an assigned facility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide Strategic Leadership by:

Aligning function with mission and core values of the organization.
Developing and communicating shared vision for area of responsibility.
Planning and executing continuous improvement processes for area of responsibility.
Working with the Coordinator of Facilities Operations to establish priorities and cost estimates for deferred maintenance projects identified in the district’s Long-Term Facilities Maintenance (LTFM) plan, including but not limited to pavement, concrete, synthetic/natural turf, irrigation systems, landscaping, and site lighting. Recommending capital equipment purchases
Evaluating district grounds conditions, implementing strategic improvement needs and providing recommendations and cost estimates to the Coordinator of Facilities Operations and Assistant Director.
Provide Performance Leadership by:

Developing staff and/or individual capacity to apply technical/functional expertise for maximum impact.
Recommending employment and coordinating hiring for direct reports in accordance with the Teamsters collective bargaining agreement.
Providing supervision to direct reports, including formative feedback and timely performance evaluations and/or demonstrating attention to quality enhancement by improving efficiencies and effectiveness in recordkeeping, workflow and compliance.
Leading the work of others; delegating tasks and authority appropriately and/or establishing procedures to guide system and departmental work; monitoring and demonstrating effective decision-making strategies to meet project deadlines.
Conducting research and working collaboratively with the facilities operations team and industry experts to establish efficient and effective groundskeeping means and methods.
Seeking out training and learning opportunities for all ground staff members.
Demonstrate Management Skills by:

Managing department resources effectively and efficiently.
Ordering grounds maintenance supplies to maintain appropriate levels of inventory; including soliciting vendor quotes to ensure competitive pricing and quality products and/or services.
Monitoring and managing the condition of district grounds at all sites, including summer mowing, landscaping and irrigation as well as snow removal and salting in the winter.
Monitoring weather and planning for snow events in coordination with Coordinator of facilities and snow plowing contractors.
Developing plans for district staff during snow events including snow removal, salting, and blowing snow back.
Developing plans for care and maintenance of athletic fields including fertilizing, weed control and aeration.
Ensuring compliance with applicable policies, rules, and regulations.
Ensuring all grounds equipment is maintained and operated according to manufacturers’ recommendations.
Working with district site administrators to develop landscaping and other site improvement plans.
Ensuring completion of all periodic safety inspections, documentation and maintaining records.
Assigning all grounds work tasks as required to maintain district standards including, but not limited to, irrigation, mowing, pruning shrubs, tree trimming/removal, weeding, snow removal, salting and other projects as needed
Applying effective decision-making processes to problems or situations.
Overseeing contractor performance for grounds tasks, including landscaping, irrigation repairs/installation, and snow removal.

Education/Knowledge Requirement: High school diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelor’s degree in turf management or similar is preferred.

Essential knowledge and specialized subject knowledge required to perform the essential functions of the job:

Knowledge of proper grounds maintenance programs, including natural and synthetic sports field maintenance
Knowledge of snow removal and salting best practices
Knowledge of hand tools, power tools, diagnostic tools, and equipment required to perform grounds and facility maintenance work
Knowledge of applicable laws, rules, codes, and guidelines related to right-to-know, safety, and facility operations
Knowledge of all safety precautions and procedures applicable to the trade
Knowledge of irrigation system fundamentals, operation, and maintenance
Knowledge of the proper application, use, storage, and disposal of chemicals used in the performance of the job
Knowledge of hazardous waste handling and disposal procedures
General knowledge of repair and maintenance principles across mechanical, electrical, carpentry, and masonry disciplines
Knowledge of basic accounting, budgeting, and record-keeping practices
Skill in directing, supervising, training, and evaluating grounds and maintenance staff
Skill in operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting district grounds and maintenance equipment
Ability to analyze and assess maintenance issues and collaboratively develop effective solutions
Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and subordinates, both orally and in writing
Ability to work effectively with stakeholders, including building principals, staff, students, and the community
Ability to organize work, manage time effectively, and prioritize multiple tasks
Ability to maintain accurate and current records related to maintenance activities and operations
License/Certification (Identify licenses/certification required upon hiring):
Valid driver’s license upon hire. Must obtain MN Pesticide License within one year of start date.

Special Services Supervisor

Position Purpose:
The Special Services Supervisor position will be responsible for developing, directing, and providing ongoing leadership, coordination, and oversight of special services programming within established policies and directives of the education district and assigned member district(s), as well as any federal or state applicable laws. In consultation with the Director of Special Education and/or Executive Director, the position provides technical assistance on legal and regulatory compliance in areas of special education, Section 504, and Alternative Delivery of Specialized Instructional Services (ADSIS). In addition, the position provides support in the implementation of a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework.

Essential Duties:

  • Professional Learning
    • Engage in professional learning aligned with SCRED goals and district-specific needs to inform SCRED professional learning opportunities provided to members
    • Develop professional learning plans in collaboration with the SCRED Services Coordination Team to ensure alignment with SCRED goals and messaging across service areas
    • Facilitate professional learning using effective adult learning strategies on a variety of topics, including due process, special education programming, section 504, and MTSS implementation
    • Facilitate department meetings in each member district building to promote ongoing professional learning and provide critical updates
    • Create resources and reference materials to enhance professional learning and/or provide guidance to member district staff
    • Facilitate or participate in assigned stakeholder meetings, work groups, and networking opportunities
  • Collaboration & Consultation
    • Provide technical assistance on legal and regulatory compliance in the areas of special education, Section 504, and MTSS
    • Collaborate with SCRED and member district staff to enhance special services programming
    • Consult with school teams regarding challenging student cases and parental disagreements
    • Facilitate conciliation meetings and coordinate alternative dispute resolution opportunities with the Minnesota Department of Education
    • Provide leadership to the Chisago or Pine County Interagency Collaborative at the committee level
  • Administrative Processes
    • Assist in the implementation of procedures related to child find and child count under the direction of the Director of Special Education
    • Facilitate the data collection for the Special Education Data Reporting Application (SEDRA) for assigned SCRED districts
    • Provide leadership in the completion of the special education compliance monitoring processes for both SCRED and Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) under the direction of the Director of Special Education
    • Respond to complaints and due process hearing requests filed with MDE in collaboration with Director of Special Education
    • Request out of field permissions, discretionary variances, and tiered licenses for staff when necessary with the Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board (PELSB)
    • Facilitate the completion of the Alternative Delivery of Specialized Instruction Services (ADSIS) application and data reporting requirements
    • Formulate recommendations regarding special services staffing, supplies/equipment, transportation, outside evaluations, etc. for district(s) of assignment and SCRED programs
    • Assist member district administrators with special services staffing (e.g., allocations, hiring, onboarding)
    • Oversee the special education procurement process in district(s) of assignment
  • System-Level Coordination
    • Develop, direct, and provide ongoing leadership, coordination, and oversight of special services programming within district(s) of assignment
    • Oversee SCRED student programs located in district(s) of assignment in collaboration with Director of Special Education and assigned host-district administrator
    • Support the implementation of MTSS within district(s) of assignment to meet the needs of all students
    • Ensure the implementation of Extended School Year (ESY) programs in collaboration with principals and Director of Special Education
    • Participate in district administrative team meetings, as requested
    • Assist with evaluating special services programming and student outcomes as part of a continuous improvement process
  • Business Functions
    • Recruit, select, supervise, and evaluate the performance of designated education district positions
    • Assist in the development and implementation of the education district’s strategic action plan
    • Communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders including board members, administrators, teachers, paraprofessional, students, parents, community members, and other educational partners
    • Develop and revise special education guidelines and administrative procedures and policies in collaboration with Director of Special Education and/or Executive Director

School Social Worker

Early Childhood Preschool Teacher

This Preschool Teacher will work in the Little Huskies pre-kindergarten All Day program, starting the 2026-2027 school year. The Little Huskies preschool program provides a developmentally appropriate environment that stimulates student development and mastery using the Early Childhood Indicators of Progress for cognitive, social/emotional, language, literacy, and physical/motor development of 4-year-olds. This position will work with one section of students within the All Day program, five days per week. Additional calendar days are devoted to student orientation, staff work days, and professional development. School Readiness is an inclusive educational setting serving 16 students/section. The successful candidate will work as a team member to create a warm and welcoming environment for children, their families, and professional colleagues.

Qualifications:

A valid Minnesota teaching license in early childhood is required. Demonstrated use of research-based practices and approaches to ensure all learners achieve at the highest levels.

Reading Intervention Teacher

11. Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
12. Encourage students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.

21. Assist the administration in implementing Board policies and rules.
22. Encourage parent/guardian involvement by taking an active role and being available to students and parents/guardians for education-related purposes when required or requested to do so under reasonable terms.
23. Maintain effective lines of communication among staff, parents/guardians and supervisors to assist in the education of each child.
24. Serve as a role model by demonstrating a positive attitude, appropriate dress, timeliness, proper preparation and strong work habits.
25. Be responsible for students in his/her charge and for any and all students of the school during the school day and during school functions.
26. Work cooperatively with all staff, promote interdisciplinary collaboration and be supportive of other building/district programs.
27. Take responsibility for staying professionally current.
28. Attend all building faculty, department and Individual Education Plan (IEP) staffings and meetings as required or upon request.
29. Assume all other responsibilities and perform all other duties as assigned by the building principal or person designated by the district administrator.
