General Purpose of Job:  To inspire and prepare all scholars with the confidence, courage and competence to achieve their dreams; contribute to community; and engage in a lifetime of learning by assisting in preparing and serving quality and nutritious meals to students and staff.  Contribute to a positive kitchen team that builds relationships with students, building staff and community members.

Responsibilities:

Menu/Inventory

Assists in the implementation of breakfast and lunch, and special events including, but not limited to, Fruit and Vegetable Grant, After School Snack Program, Dinner Program, Summer Programs , etc.;
Assist in serving quality meals on time every day regardless of challenges with food, equipment or staffing;
Assists in determining and ordering appropriate quantities of food and supplies that are necessary for the efficient operation of the building meal program as needed.
Food Preparation and EquipmentAssists in preparing and serving meals, washing dishes, cleaning equipment and facilities as needed;
Understands, follows, and may train in the proper procedures for safety and use of food service equipment;
Assists in calculating quantities of food to be prepared each day while minimizing food waste;
Uses and assists in training staff on the use of standardized recipes to ensure serving of safe food and USDA requirements are met for all students;
Maintains a positive work environment where staff feel welcome and valued;
Attends in- service meetings and trainings for the purpose of gathering information required to perform job functions;
Maintains temperature logs when necessary to ensure safety;
Ensures proper receiving and storage procedures are maintained by following current sanitation guidelines;
Supports department continuous improvement program by accomplishing goals.
Financial Provides accurate and complete information to manager regarding daily menu and food production records.
Other Responsibilities:Collaborates with nutrition staff, building staff and community members;
Responds to questions and concerns in a timely manner;
Uses creative ways to connect with students to seek their input and build positive relationships;
Communicates effectively with students, families and staff to maintain positive relationships;
Recognizes and acknowledges concerns and proactively works with others to find solutions.
Understands and follows USDA and MDE meal pattern regulations;
Follows all local and district health safety codes;
Completes annual health and safety training;
Follows all current uniform guidelines and Osseo Area Schools Food and Nutrition personal hygiene procedures;
Helps in passing bi-annual health inspections.

Proper use of commercial kitchen equipment to minimize accidents, safety, and sanitation concerns;

Registered Behavior Technician

Responsibilities and tasks include: Assuming full responsibility in Building Engineer’s absence; providing work direction to custodians.
Communicating work allocation directives issued by the Coordinator or Assistant Coordinator, Facilities Operations and building principal to the building custodial personnel.
Performing general housekeeping tasks to include, but not limited to, dust mopping and wet mopping classrooms, restrooms and hallway floors, cleaning restrooms, stripping and sealing resilient and hard surface floors, washing windows, walls, lockers; vacuum all carpeted areas of the building; housekeeping tasks to be performed according to established district systems and cleaning standards.
Performing minor carpentry, electrical, mechanical and non-potable water system plumbing repairs to include but not limited to cleaning equipment, ceilings and floor tile and carpet;
Providing support to kitchen staff by mopping floors and unloading groceries and stacks in storeroom, and stock supplies in storeroom.
Monitoring and adjusting building automation controls.
Reporting vandalism or unauthorized individuals in buildings.
Maintaining building grounds including, but not limited to, watering, mowing, trimming, pruning shrubs, trees, weeding, removing paper and debris from school yard and along fence lines.
Performing snow removal and keeping sidewalks free of ice.
Taking charge of all aspects of the physical operation of the building for which they are responsible.
Reporting to the Assistant Coordinator, Maintenance Services (or their designee) any breakdown of equipment that is not functioning as designed.
Maintaining and submitting all appropriate reports and logs in a timely manner.
Painting district facilities to include but not limited to walls, doors, frames, etc.
Maintaining building equipment per department guidelines.
Operating and maintaining boiler: Checking boiler to ensure appropriate operation.
Setting up and taking down equipment including but not limited to tables, chairs, etc.
Responding to questions and providing excellent customer service to facility users.
Performing other comparable duties of a like or similar nature as assigned.
Minimum qualifications include:High school graduate or equivalent.
Must have MN Second Class C boiler license upon hire.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities include:Computer skills, including proper use of email communication
Knowledge of proper operation of building automation systems
Knowledge of hand, power, diagnostic tools, and equipment required in the performance of the job.
Knowledge of all safety precautions applicable to trade.
Knowledge of the fundamentals and procedures of HVAC operation, repair, and proactive/reactive maintenance.
General knowledge in the principles of general repair and maintenance in such areas as mechanical, electrical, steam, air system, carpentry, and masonry or plumbing.
Knowledge of cleaning techniques and materials.

Preferred qualifications include:MN First Class C boiler license preferred.
Training or experience cleaning and maintaining a commercial facility desired.
