The Richfield Public School District is now accepting applications for an Assistant Superintendent.  Roles and responsibilities include providing leadership and collaboration across all areas of the organization, including working cohesively and interdependently with a highly skilled cabinet-level leadership team.  Anticipated duties of the Assistant Superintendent include, but are not limited to, supervising principals, holding the role of ombudsperson, partnering with the Superintendent on crisis management, supervising other directors and overseeing additional areas within the organization. The Assistant Superintendent is one of five cabinet members who partner to support Richfield Public Schools and the Superintendent in leading and representing the District at state and federal meetings with partner organizations. The Assistant Superintendent will stand in for the Superintendent as needed.  Upon hire, the Assistant Superintendent will coordinate with the cabinet team to review responsibilities and align and restructure responsibilities across the cabinet leadership team to best serve Richfield Public Schools. This assistant superintendent role is specifically designed for individuals who plan to become a future superintendent, ideally even the future superintendent of RPS. The ideal candidate will possess successful leadership experience at both the building and the district level.

Special Education Coordinator

Position Overview
The Special Education Coordinator leads Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) for children from birth to age five and coordinates special education services for grades K–5 across six elementary schools. This role ensures strong systems, legal compliance, and high-quality services for students and families. The coordinator works closely with principals, staff, and district leaders to solve problems and improve outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Lead ECSE programs for ages birth to five.
Coordinate special education services for elementary grades K–5 across six schools.

Special Education Teacher

School Social Worker

Position Summary: The school social worker provides comprehensive support to students, families, and staff by addressing barriers that interfere with student learning. The role promotes student well-being through preventative work, early intervention, and responsive services. The social worker collaborates with internal teams and community partners to address social emotional, behavioral, educational, personal, family, and community needs.

Qualifications:

  • Required:

    • Valid Wisconsin DPI License for School Social Work

    • Experience in school social work or related youth-serving settings

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Community Coordination and Resource Navigation
    • Act as a primary liaison between the school and community agencies such as mental health providers, county departments, the court system, law enforcement, and youth-serving nonprofits.
    • Conduct an annual update of community resource lists by contacting agencies, confirming services, and ensuring accuracy.
    • Promote community resources to families through district websites, newsletters, and social media to increase awareness and access.
  • Student and Family Support Services
    • Collaborate with administration and Student Services team members to identify students and families experiencing hardship including abuse, violence, hunger, homelessness, or other crises.
    • Assist families in accessing supports such as food banks, shelters, transportation, medical care, and financial assistance.
    • Participate in weekly meetings with to discuss student needs and coordinate interventions.
  • Assessment and Intervention
    • Provide social emotional screenings, suicide risk assessment, crisis evaluations, and referrals in coordination with Student Services.
    • Track student needs and follow up with targeted, ongoing interventions when appropriate.
  • Advocacy and Equity Support
    • Advocate for students and families navigating complex or sensitive situations including disability services, limited financial resources, and limited English proficiency.
    • Help families understand school procedures, available supports, and their rights within the school environment.
  • Mental Health Collaboration
    • Coordinate on site, Co-Located mental health therapy, including managing referrals, communicating with families, and completing necessary paperwork for program entry.
    • Maintain communication with mental health providers to support continuity of care while respecting confidentiality requirements.
    • Facilitate re-entry meetings for students returning from hospitalization or treatment programs and establish individualized support plans
  • Social Emotional and Restorative Work
    • Provide direct support to students through individual intervention, small group counseling, and skill building sessions focused on social emotional development.
    • Facilitate student groups such as grief support, social skills, newcomer orientation, and other needs based groups.
    • Lead restorative practices including conferences, circles, and small group problem solving to strengthen relationships and reduce conflict.
  • Attendance Intervention and Truancy Prevention
    • Lead the school’s attendance intervention process and collaborate with administrators and support teams to identify students with attendance barriers.
    • Facilitate attendance meetings beginning at ten absences and help create action plans with students and families.
    • Monitor attendance data, communicate progress, and document interventions.
    • Maintain consistent contact with parents or guardians of students with chronic attendance concerns, including home visits and follow up phone calls.
    • Complete county and court referrals for truancy cases and collaborate with deans and law enforcement when appropriate.
  • Collaboration and Professional Engagement
    • Participate in district, community, county, and state level activities that support professional growth and strengthen school community partnerships.
    • Maintain accurate documentation of services, contacts, referrals, and interventions in accordance with district expectations and confidentiality practices.
    • Participate in building and district level committees as assigned.
    • Attend and participate in school events, meetings, and conferences as required.
    • Perform additional duties as assigned by school administration.
  • Physical & Work Environment Requirements:
    • Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
    • Occasional lifting, carrying, or pushing of materials and classroom equipment.

Chief Human Resources Officer

POSITION TITLE: Chief Human Resources Officer

POSITION SUMMARY:  The Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) provides strategic leadership, direction, and oversight for all aspects of human resources in the Hudson School District and oversees the Transportation Department. This role ensures the effective recruitment, onboarding, support, development, and retention of high-quality employees; fosters a positive, equitable, and legally compliant work environment; and aligns human resources systems with the District’s mission, values, and strategic goals. The CHRO serves as a key advisor to the Superintendent and leadership teams on workforce planning, organizational culture, employee relations, compensation, labor matters, and HR operations.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Law Degree or Master’s degree in Educational Administration, Human Resources or related field
  • Demonstrated experience in educational administration or human resources leadership.
  • 5+ years of experience in comparable human resources position preferred.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive recruitment strategy to attract high-quality certified, support, and administrative staff aligned with District needs and workforce goals.
  • Oversee hiring processes, including applicant screening, interviews, reference checks, and selection recommendations to the Superintendent.
  • Lead the District’s onboarding system to ensure all new employees experience a welcoming, coherent, and supportive transition into District culture, expectations, and required training.
  • Design and maintain retention strategies that strengthen staff engagement, support, morale, and long-term commitment to the District.
  • Manage compensation and classification systems, ensuring internal equity, external competitiveness, and annual implementation of salary schedules and market comparables.
  • Conduct salary and benefits analyses, prepare compensation recommendations, and collaborate with the Finance Office to ensure accuracy and legal compliance.
  • Oversee all employee records, digital HR systems, licensure verification, and required documentation in accordance with state and federal regulations.
  • Advise the Superintendent, Board, and District leaders on HR matters including workforce planning, staffing patterns, organizational structure, and personnel policy.
  • Administer employee relations, including conflict resolution, coaching, corrective action, performance concerns, and compliance with negotiated agreements and District policies.
  • Interpret employee handbooks, Board policies, collective bargaining agreements, and employment law for staff and administrators.
  • Oversee substitute processes, including recruitment, onboarding, assignment procedures, and daily operational effectiveness.
  • Lead development, revision, and maintenance of all job descriptions to ensure role clarity, consistency, and alignment with District goals and legal requirements.
  • Review staffing needs with principals and administrators and support recommendations for assignments, transfers, promotions, and separations.
  • Provide leadership in employee benefits administration, including communication, enrollment processes, leave programs (FMLA, ADA, workers’ compensation), and coordination with payroll.
  • Maintain accurate licensure, credentialing, and background check processes, ensuring District-wide compliance with DPI, state, and federal mandates.
  • Direct the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with legislative changes and best practices.
  • Oversee mandatory and voluntary professional development related to HR topics, including workplace expectations, compliance training, and supervisor support.
  • Collaborate with colleges, universities, and professional organizations to support student teachers, interns, and future educator pipelines.
  • Provide research, data analysis, and reporting related to wages, staffing, turnover, employee engagement, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Support the Superintendent’s leadership team by contributing to District-wide communication, planning, and collaboration efforts.
  • Maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and ethical practice in all personnel matters and interactions.
    Serve as a liaison to legal counsel, DPI, and external agencies regarding personnel and employment matters.
  • Represent the District at local, regional, and state HR associations to stay current with emerging trends and labor market conditions.
  • Oversee and support the Transportation department and related contracted entities.
  • Review and revise Board policy to ensure legal and practice compliance.
  • Process all public records requests as the Superintendent’s records custodian designee.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Superintendent.

SUPERVISES:  Assistant Director of Human Resources, Transportation Department

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This work regularly requires sitting, standing, walking, speaking, hearing and occasionally requires  pushing, pulling, lifting, and operating machines; work has standard vision requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels and to receive detailed information through oral communications and/or to make fine distinctions in sound; work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data, and observing general surroundings and activities; work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. school offices/classrooms/passageways).  Shall complete a physical examination as required by Wisconsin Statute 118.25.

Teacher: Special Education
