Qualifications: Candidates must hold a Master’s Degree in Speech and Language Pathology and possess a valid license from the MN Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board. Applicants need a strong working knowledge of special education laws , excellent oral and written communication skills , and basic computer literacy. Additionally, the role requires the ability to travel between district school sites.

Responsibilities:
The primary responsibility of this role is providing direct and indirect speech and language services as specified in student IEPs. As an IEP Manager, you will develop and implement goals, plan activities to promote skill development, and assess students referred for special education evaluations. This position requires extensive collaboration, including consulting with parents and school staff to resolve communication concerns and coordinating service delivery with classroom teachers to ensure consistency. Additionally, you will function as a member of the building-level Student Support Team, maintain accurate contact records, and stay current with educational technologies and district trends.

School Social Worker

Position Summary:  

The School Social Worker promotes and enhances the overall academic mission by providing services that strengthen home/school/community partnerships and alleviate barriers to learning.  The School Social Worker significantly contributes to the development of a healthy, safe, and caring environment by advancing the understanding of the emotional and social development of children and the influences of family, community, and cultural differences on student success and by implementing effective intervention strategies.  The School Social Worker is an integral component of each school’s student support team.

Position Requirements:

– Bachelor’s degree and valid MN licensure as a School Social Worker.

– Experience and training in group and individual counseling with school-age population. Working knowledge in areas of child abuse and neglect.

– Sensitivity to students in need and the ability to communicate effectively with students, adults, and community agencies.

– Preferred county-wide knowledge of community resources.

Early Childhood Preschool Teacher

Position Summary:

This Preschool Teacher will work in the Little Huskies pre-kindergarten All Day program, starting the 2026-2027 school year. The Little Huskies preschool program provides a developmentally appropriate environment that stimulates student development and mastery using the Early Childhood Indicators of Progress for cognitive, social/emotional, language, literacy, and physical/motor development of 4-year-olds. This position will work with one section of students within the All Day program, five days per week. Additional calendar days are devoted to student orientation, staff work days, and professional development. School Readiness is an inclusive educational setting serving 16 students/section. The successful candidate will work as a team member to create a warm and welcoming environment for children, their families, and professional colleagues.

Qualifications:

A valid Minnesota teaching license in early childhood is required. Demonstrated use of research-based practices and approaches to ensure all learners achieve at the highest levels.

Successful 2 years of experience in partnering with preschool families around preparing young children for school readiness. Reading Intervention Teacher

Position Summary:

Owatonna Public Schools is seeking a collaborative, student-centered Reading Intervention Teacher to support students in grades 6–8 who need targeted literacy instruction. The Reading Intervention Teacher will provide small-group instruction, monitor student progress, collaborate closely with classroom teachers, and complete required documentation for Alternative Delivery of Specialized Instructional Services (ADSIS). This role is critical to improving literacy outcomes and ensuring all students develop the reading skills necessary for success in middle school and beyond.

Position Qualifications:

Valid Minnesota teaching license (Middle School or K–12).
Demonstrated knowledge of adolescent literacy instruction.
Experience with small-group intervention or differentiated instruction.
Strong skills in data collection, analysis, and progress monitoring.
Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and communicate with families.
Minnesota Reading License or Reading Endorsement – preferred.
Training in evidence-based reading interventions – preferred.
Experience with ADSIS programming or similar intervention documentation – preferred.
Experience working with diverse learners in grades 6–8 – preferred.
