Under the direction of the Superintendent, the Director of Student Services provides leadership and
oversight for the district’s special education programs serving students from birth to age 21. This role
encompasses managing special education staff, school counselors, school social workers, school-linked
mental health practitioners, other mental health practitioners, and health and wellness services personnel.
The Director is responsible for ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, collaborating
with district administrators, staff, students, and the community to address the educational needs of students
with disabilities. Additionally, the Director develops and implements policies, procedures, and programs to
enhance special education services, mental health services, career and college readiness services, and health
services across the district.
Southwest
Science Teacher
As a Science Teacher with Willmar Public Schools, you’ll have the chance to: Develop engaging lesson plans aligned with district curriculum standards inclusive of the Standards Based Learning model.
Deliver high-quality instruction to high school students.
Assess student progress and provide valuable feedback.

School Counselor – Long Term Substitute
Under the direction of the Building Principal and/or the guidance of the Assistant Principal, the School Counselor
represents a grouping of different counseling positions across the district responsible for providing support and assistance to instructional staff, students and parents by providing a comprehensive school counseling programs to respond to identified student needs in the areas of academic support; college and career guidance; individual and/or group counseling support services.
Special Education Teacher (2 positions)
As a Special Education Teacher with Willmar Public Schools, you’ll play a vital role in:
Providing research-based specialized instruction to address individualized goals and objectives outlined in each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP).
Assessing student progress and adjusting instructional techniques to meet their needs effectively.
Developing and implementing annual IEP plans, including present levels of performance, instructional goals, and required services.
Coordinating the delivery of special education services and serving as the primary contact for parents.
Collaborating with educational professionals and other service providers to address student needs comprehensively.
Collaborating with fellow educators through Professional Learning Communities, Student Support Teams, and other valuable opportunities to enhance student achievement.

Special Education Director
The Director of Special Education will provide visionary leadership and strategic administration for the special education department. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local policies while driving innovative programs and strategies to enhance student outcomes. Substitute Teacher or Substitute Paraprofessional

Teachers On Call, a Kelly Education Company, is hiring immediately for both substitute teachers and paraprofessionals for districts across the Southwest region of MN for the 2024-2025 school year.
*Pay Range varies district to district for Teacher and Para rates. Teacher rates are paid Full Day/Half Day scale and all other support roles are paid on an hourly scale.*

Substitute Teacher Responsibilities:
Assume duties of the classroom teacher in accordance with school district lesson plans, school rules, and Kelly policies. This includes:
· Leading instruction in the classroom by conducting the teacher’s existing lesson plans
· Teaching students on a variety of classroom topics/courses
· Building positive relationships
· Assigning reasonable tasks and homework
· Empower students to learn, and encourage classroom participation
· Create a classroom environment that’s conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students
· Adapt to the various learning styles of students
· For long-term assignments, it may be required to develop lessons plans, as well as create, administer, and grade tests and assignments
Substitute Paraprofessional Responsibilities:
· Provide classroom assistance to the district/school teacher and support to the general education or special needs students.
· Ensure adequate supervision of students and classroom environment to assure health, welfare, and safety of students.
· Assist students in transition to and from classrooms, as needed
· Understand, address, and be attuned to the needs of each student, recognizing differences in their abilities and cognitive levels
Minimum requirements:
· Paraprofessional/Support Roles – HS Diploma/GED
· Substitute Teacher – Bachelor’s degree with MN Teaching or Substitute License
· Ability to read, write and communicate in the English language fluently and effectively
· No experience necessary; we provide training! Entry-level candidates encouraged to apply.
