Developmental / Adapted: Physical Education Teacher

Job Description:  A full-time (1.0 FTE) Developmental/Adapted, Physical Education Teacher at Faribault Public Schools.  This position commences with the 2026-27 school year on approximately August 24, 2026.

Faribault Public Schools is a rural Pre-K through Adult School District located about 50 miles south of the Twin-Cities. The school district currently serves approximately 3,700 students in Faribault and our surrounding areas within our community of 23,000 citizens within the city limits. District sites include one Pre-K and Kindergarten, two elementary schools 1-5, one middle school 6-8, one high school 9-12, one area learning center 9-12 and one education center for adult education.
The historic community of Faribault offers adventure, fun, unique dining, history, shopping and entertainment. Qualifications:
Experience working with elementary and middle school aged students. D/APE experience preferred. Knowledge of due process procedures and ability to work with a team.  Ability to consult with general physical education teachers.  Ability to design individual programming and accommodations for students with disabilities.  Ability to work with a team; training or willingness to be trained in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI); and excellent oral and written communication skills.  All candidates will be considered

Area Learning Center Teacher

JOB DESCRIPTION: This is a licensed teaching position that works directly with students who are eligible for receiving their education in an alternative setting.  This teacher is responsible for the planning, assessment, instruction, and differentiating of curriculum for Math, Science, Social Studies, and English.  Ability to work in a team-oriented environment is a must, as is the ability to be flexible with students and staff to create a student-centered alternative classroom.  Collaboration is key when working with parents, colleagues, and administrators.  This position will commence with the 2026-2027 school year.

 

 

EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Collaborate with school personnel, parents, and various community agencies for the purpose of improving the quality of student outcomes.
  • Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
  • Promote equity and appreciation of diversity
  • Promote high standards and expectations for student achievement
  • Address the human growth and development, physical, emotional/mental, social, intellectual, and moral issues
  • Develop creative weekly lesson plans that meet the needs of student learners.
  • Deliver instruction utilizing appropriate resources, equipment, materials, technology, and instructional strategies.
  • Provide differentiated instruction based on the student’s individual level of functioning and/or modalities.
  • Provide a positive role model of appropriate and respectful interactions with students and staff.
  • Maintain constant and ongoing communication regarding students and all facets of the program.
  • Create and support implementation of behavior improvement plans
  • Perform other duties as deemed appropriate by the Coordinator

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

  • Effective communication/interpersonal skills
  • Experience in curriculum and instructional strategies for differentiated instruction
  • Experience with high school students and programs
  • Experience developing relationships with a multicultural community
  • Experience working with at-risk students and trauma-informed.

General Music Teacher – Primary Elementary 2026-2027 School Year

ISD 518 and Prairie Elementary are seeking a K-2 primary music teacher beginning the 2026-2027 school year.

Worthington District 518 is a diverse and growing school community with approximately 670 students at Prairie Elementary (K-2).

Position Overview
The chosen candidate (1.0 FTE) will be working with students in grades K-2, providing 30 minute classes while also collaborating with another full-time music specialist in the building. Candidate should have a strong desire to help younger students form a strong foundation in their musical skills and inspire in them a love for music. ISD 518 is committed to providing students with quality music education, offering orchestra, band, and choir beginning in upper elementary.

Primary Responsibilities
Duties of this job include, but are not limited to all assigned music educational teacher duties and responsibilities, which will include: the implementation of music curriculum, communicating with parents, facilitating a love for music, and working collaboratively with music colleagues across all buildings in the district. We strongly prefer candidates who have exhibited excellence in collaboration with colleagues and an enthusiasm to work with young elementary students.

Qualifications
Current Minnesota State Licensure in Elementary Music Education required. Position requires someone who is enthusiastic, self-motivated about teaching young students and working with staff, and has the ability to be a flexible team member. Candidate must have strong communication skills, and value working in partnership with parents and other staff members to provide a professional learning community focused on improving student learning.

Licensing Requirements
Valid Minnesota Teaching License in K-12 Vocal and Classroom Music, or eligibility, required.

Special Education ABS, SLD and/or EBD Teacher at Jefferson Elementary School.  This position commences on approximately 8/24/26 with the start of the 26-27 school year.

Qualifications:   
Experience working with elementary aged students with academic and behavior challenges; knowledge of due process forms and procedures required; knowledge of MN EBD and SLD criteria and the evaluation process including Functional Behavior Assessments; understanding the use of Positive Behavior Supports; knowledge of how to write a Behavior Intervention Plan; ability to work with a team; training or willingness to be trained in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI); and excellent oral and written communication skills.  Highly qualified in Math, Reading and English preferred.  All candidates will be considered.
