Speech and Language Pathologist

Under the direction of the Building Principal, the Speech & Language Pathologist is responsible for providing speech and language therapy services directly to qualifying students based upon state and federal requirements in the areas of language, articulation, fluency and voice.  Conducts speech and language assessments of student needs; interprets informal and standardized communicative measures; and participates in the development of individualized educational plans for students with eligible communicative needs.

Occupational Therapist

Under the direction of the building Principal with guidance from Director of Student Services, the Occupational Therapist provides direct occupational therapy services to students (birth through age twenty-one) and consultation services to employees and parents.  The Occupational Therapist assesses students with various physical, neurological, sensory and perceptual impairments to determine their functional skills within their educational placement.  The OT is responsible for developing, implementing, and/or monitoring therapeutic programs and providing consultation to school staff and parents to maximize student skills.

Special Education Teacher (multiple positions)

Willmar Public Schools is currently seeking applicants for the position of Special Education Teacher.  Under the direction of the Director of Student Services and the Building Principal, the Licensed Special Education Teacher develops and provides specialized instruction to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities, evaluates and assesses student progress against instructional objectives, and functions as IEP Manager to assigned students.

 

Director of Special Education

Provides leadership and assists member districts in implementing special education services for students birth to age 21; in conformance to District, State and Federal objectives; serves as a resource to SWWC and school personnel; maintains adequate staffing to ensure objectives of programs and services are achieved within budget. Assists member school districts in complying with District, State and Federal rules/regulations pertaining to students with disabilities.  Provides direct supervision and management of all staff employed by the SWWC at the service area level and assists districts in conducting performance reviews on district staff.  Oversees special education and third party pay as requested by member districts.  Conducts planning meetings and participates in local, state, and regional special education meetings as necessary.   Interprets and completes, in a timely manner, all special education applications and forms for each member school in the service area and assists in developing and managing all special education budgets in the service area.  Oversees staff development for service area personnel and district personnel.

Early Childhood Teacher Long Term Substitute

Job Description:  A 1.0 FTE Long-term Substitute Early Childhood teacher position for Roosevelt Early Learning Center. Qualified candidates will offer a developmentally appropriate learning environment, with the focus on cognitive, social/emotional, language, literacy, and physical/motor development of students. This teacher will also work with classroom paraprofessionals to create a warm welcoming environment for parents and children. The position is 5 days a week from 7:30 AM-3:30 PM. This position commences on February 2nd to March 19th, 2026.

Faribault Early Childhood is a part of the Minnesota Centers of Excellence Pyramid Model. Applicants with knowledge and experience in a multi-tiered system of support for young learners are preferred.

 

Qualifications: Early Childhood Education License required; ability to work with young children in a team setting required 2+ years experience preferred; experience working with a diverse population and special needs helpful. Must be able to lift up to 35lbs. In connection with the handling of children for the facilitation programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations.

Licensed Practical Nurse

Job Title:    Licensed Practical Nurse – Health Office Float  1.0 FTE

Summary of Position(s): 
These Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to serve as the subject matter expert in general health related areas in the educational school setting.  LPN’s working for Faribault Public Schools provide care to students with health needs, refer students to outside providers and assist with screenings and prevention of communicable diseases. The positions commence immediately upon hire. LPN’s are employed full-time for 7.5 hours per day, 5 days per week between late August and early June; serving multiple health offices within Faribault Public Schools. Additional summer opportunities are available. This position commences immediately upon hire.

Qualifications:
Nurse/LPN positions will provide on-site hands on management of routine and emergency health concerns as they arise at multiple health offices District Wide according to district policy and guidelines and state law.  Daily distribution of student’s medications, maintenance of student health records and to provide on-going communication with parents, teachers, specialists, principals, and the health service coordinator.  Ability to collect and report data as directed by the case manager.  Must be well-organized and willing to work as a team; and be comfortable with using the computer.  Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
