Summary: With the support of a licensed teacher, Multi-Subject K-12 Tutors will support students in grades K-12 with their math, science, writing, and PLTW homework needs. Tutors will meet with 1-2 students at a time to guide them through homework completion and help to increase their self-sufficiency, self-esteem, and sense of belonging and community.

 

·      Assist students with math, science, writing, and PLTW homework

·      Manage attendance

·      Assist in recruitment for the program

·      Maintain student privacy

·      Work collaboratively with lead teacher

·      Support the social and emotional wellbeing of students

·      Participate in professional development as it arises

·      Appropriate content knowledge to support others with their homework

·      Ability to encourage and motivate others

·      Ability to build trust and confidence with peers of all ages

·      Ability to seek support from the lead teacher when necessary

Working Conditions: The position will follow the format of the school day as it relates to COVID conditions. Must be willing to perform in person and virtually if necessary. Work is performed in an environment of professionalism, proficiency, and precision.  Must be able to navigate virtual platforms and required technology.

Position Details: Tuesday & Thursday; Earn $14.00/hour

Business, Computer Teacher Grades 6-8

Teaches knowledge and understanding of Computer Technology careers. Teaches in a computer lab and students also have iPads available. Ability to plan and organize instruction in ways that maximize student learning, employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies to communicate subject matter to students including strategies to meet diverse student needs.

Special Ed Teacher for ABS, EBD, or SLD

Worthington Middle School is seeking an Academic Behavioral Strategist (ABS) or Emotional Behavior Disorder (EBD) or Specific Learning Disability (SLD) Teacher to join our Special Education Department.  The candidate should have a current ABS, EBD, or SLD Special Education license in the state of Minnesota (or be actively pursuing such licensure.)  Applicants should be patient and kind; understand case management, IEP development, knowledge of systematic academic and behavior interventions and be willing to be trained on Sped Forms.  Experience with iPads in the classroom would be beneficial.

Choir/Music Teacher Grades 6-8

Worthington Middle School is in need of a new Choir Director/Music Teacher for grades 6-8. This position will be the choir director for grades 6-8 and will also teach general music classes to grades 6 and 7. Music is well-supported in our school as we also have two band and two orchestra directors that also have some general music class duties.  Expectations include the ability to play piano and guitar, along with directing the 3 choirs for rehearsals and concerts. Applicants must be patient and kind, licensed, or eligible for a license, to teach choir/music in the state of Minnesota.

Adult Basic Education Coordinator

District 518 Community Education is seeking a full-time Adult Basic Education Coordinator.  Individual must have a Minnesota teaching license and prior experience in ABE.  Duties include scheduling classes, managing budgets, writing grants, analyzing data and submitting reports.  The successful candidate will possess excellent writing and computer skills, leadership skills, and financial management skills.  This position oversees ABE programming in 8 counties in the Southwest ABE consortium.  Ability to travel to member school districts occasionally is required.  The ABE coordinator works 12 months of the year.  Benefits include paid holidays, paid vacation, earned sick leave, contribution toward health insurance, TRA, and a retirement matching opportunity.
