ACCOUNTING AND FINANCE MANAGER

QUALIFICATIONS:
Ø Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
Ø CPA designation or progress toward certification preferred.
Ø Basic office procedures and activities
Ø Using computers and equipment such as calculators, printers, copiers, fax machines and telephone systems
Ø Experience with and ability to collaborate with others around matters of program development, instructional programming, implementation, continuous improvement and evaluation.
Ø Strong organizational and time management skills, attention to detail is essential, ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects, set and reevaluate priorities.
Ø Aware of and the ability to analyze complex situations or needs, make competent decisions, and successfully implement team objectives.
Ø Proven success in listening and dialoging with a broad array of stakeholders.
Ø Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with staff and the community.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ø Maintain the district financial accounting system by assisting in the development and preparation of budgets.
Ø Prepare budget reports by budget department; prepare budget requests; keeping and monitoring accounts and assigning financial codes.
Ø Prepare monthly reconciliation of all district bank accounts.
Ø Monitoring district cash flow and investing available funds in approved accounts.
Ø Initiate wire transfers for payment of HRA accounts, accounts payable and bond payments as needed.
Ø Verify and monitor all federal grant revenues and expenditures including EDRS/SERVS reporting to provide analysis and assure compliance.
Ø Preparation of Federal, State, County and District reports.
Ø Responsible for understanding and overseeing all internal financial programs, including the district’s on-line payment systems, banking systems, and procurement card software.
Ø Prepare and process accounting entries required for month-end and fiscal year adjustments.
Ø Maintain chart of accounts in accordance with the Minnesota State Department of Education and UFARS.
Ø Approve purchase orders in accordance with established district procedures.
Ø Oversee the accounting for Student Activities.
Ø Coordinate annual audit and prepare audit workpapers.
Ø Perform finance system maintenance as needed.
Ø Support district staff in purchasing, budget monitoring and expenditure coding.
Ø Knowledge of Skyward Finance System preferred.
Ø Other duties may be assigned.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Year round, continuing contract, beginning December, 2021 or mutual agreement.
SALARY AND BENEFITS
Salary range will be $85,000-$95,000 commensurate with experience and qualifications.
A metro competitive paid benefits including – but not limited to – group insurance coverage, vacation, sick leave, and holidays. This is an individual contract, not part of a bargaining group.
