Job Summary
Serve as an instructional, data and equity leader.  Lead and manage all programs, services, staff, and students.  Responsible for decisions that promote effective staff work, understanding of all student needs, quality curriculum and learner outcomes, and use of best teaching practices to improve learning. Support the delivery and administration of District educational programs, including the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme.

Job Functions

Serve as an instructional, data and equity leader.
Create and maintain a school culture focused on learning and continuous improvement.
Supervise and direct the activities of Assistant Principal and support staff.
Responsible for recruitment and hiring recommendations of all elementary school teaching and support staff.
Oversee all staffing issues, concerns and personnel actions.
Observe, coordinate and/or evaluate all elementary school certified and support staff.
Conduct and prepare evaluation reports on all certified staff in accordance with district guidelines and requirements.
Provide instructional leadership, support and coaching in the domains of high-impact instructional strategies, formative assessment practices, personalized learning and student engagement.
Monitor goals and progress concerning student performance and assessment/testing results.
Provide guidance and leadership on school year and summer targeted services and online programming.
Work in partnership with district, school and teacher leaders to create a caring environment with high expectations focused on the learning needs of all students and staff.
Cultivate and mentor future staff and student leaders through formal and informal leadership opportunities.
Assist in developing, implementing, and monitoring the effectiveness of programs for professional learning and instructional improvement, addressing district, site and individual needs.
Establish and maintain effective communication and public relations with staff, students, families and community members through all programs and activities.
Collaborate and work with other District administrators (Superintendent, Director of Learning, Director of Special Education) to determine staffing requirements, course offerings, student needs, and scheduling requirements.
Promote the school district and site vision, goals, priorities, expectations, and plans.
Provide leadership for the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP).
Provide leadership in the development, analysis, evaluation, and improvement of the educational and operational function of the site.
Develop and administer annual master schedule for instructional programs.
Manage and maintain budget within allocations and parameters provided.
Support and promote the school district and site vision, goals, priorities, expectations and plans.
Provide leadership in the development, analysis, evaluation, and improvement of the educational and operational function of the sites.
Ensure compliance with all laws, school board policies and school district procedures and guidelines.
Establish guidelines for appropriate student conduct and implement behavior management procedures and policies that ensure a safe and orderly environment.
Collaborate and work with the assistant principals, law enforcement personnel, building personnel, and others in addressing and implementing safety issues, programs and procedures such as fire/tornado drills, building lockdowns, building searches, school/parking lot security, medical emergencies, vandalism, threats, and violence within the building.
Demonstrate professional, ethical and responsible behavior.
Promote positive change and serve as a role model for all school staff and students.
Attend District school board meetings as required, school-related activities and events.  Extended hours beyond the regular school day may be frequently required.
Collaborate and coordinate with maintenance and custodial personnel in the renovation and upkeep of the school.  Make recommendations concerning building improvements and needs.
Represent the school within community forums for the purpose of maintaining ongoing community support for educational goals and/or assisting with issues related to school environment.
Cultivate and develop inclusive and equitable working relationships with all students, staff, families and community members.
Demonstrate prompt, regular and reliable attendance.
Perform of all other related work required to accomplish the objectives of the School District and School.
Other duties as assigned.
