Position Summary:  Cabinet Level Position

The Executive Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion leads and manages the programs and processes of Rochester Public Schools that promote and sustain educational equity and inclusiveness.

Promotes and maintains a focus on raising student achievement and closing the opportunity gap.
Works closely with fellow Cabinet members to support district initiatives.
Works with the Curriculum and Instruction department to develop training that promotes and supports equity, inclusion and diversity to hold the district accountable to the equity statements and equity policy.
Engages staff and students to develop anti-racist, anti-oppressive, and inclusive practices district wide.
Works with the Human Resources department to develop strategies focused on recruiting and retaining staff with minoritized identities.
Ensures equal access to educational, employment, and promotional opportunities for all stakeholders.
Supports equitable opportunities for all students, leads cross-departmental efforts to ensure that practices are aligned with the District’s Strategic Plan and Equity Policy (in progress), and works closely with the District Cabinet Team to monitor the success of the district from a lens of equity and inclusion.

Responsibilities:

Provide professional learning experiences and coaching around equitable, inclusive, and anti-oppressive practices to develop a welcoming culture for district staff and students
Analyze data and systems of support to ensure equitable practices are in place for students, families, teachers, and staff
Coordinate a systematic systemic equity framework including, but not limited to systems and structures of opportunity and outcomes related to racial consciousness, cultural competence, and culturally responsive education
Create and maintain positive relationships and inclusive spaces for marginalized groups in our school district
Provide supports and resources for staff, students, and their families to overcome barriers and/or educational gaps
Support the Employees of Color Resource Group (EoCRG) and other Employee Resource Groups
Collaborate with local and national equity leaders to best support equitable educational practices for all students
Support administrators and staff in analyzing data, identifying trends, prioritizing needs, utilizing resources and incorporating strategies through an equity lens to improve student achievement, instructional practices, and overall district culture
Assist in recommending new policies and practices which support diversity and disrupts oppression, as well as regulations and procedures relating to equal access, equal opportunity, and outcomes measures
Attend all Board meetings, collaborate with Cabinet colleagues, and assist with presentations of information and/or recommendations
Collaborate with the Human Resources department in implementation of district recruiting efforts and development of strategies to attract, hire and support staff of marginalized backgrounds
Serve as a contributing member of the Superintendent’s Cabinet and on committees as assigned
Collaborate with community partners to utilize the resources that present opportunities for the growth and development of our student body
Provide supervision to the district Equity Coordinators
Perform other duties as assigned

Social Studies Teacher (School Year 2021-2022)

TEACHER EXPECTATIONS: SPANISH

We are looking for staff to build the spanish program to include dual-credit offerings (CIS or AP).  The Upper School currently has Spanish levels 1-3.  Staff must be experienced in differentiated instruction, competent in standards-based grading and planning, and be able to raise cultural awareness of the curriculum.
