Job Title

Superintendent of Schools. The school district is seeking a full-time superintendent effective July 1, 2021.

District

Renville County West Public Schools (Based in Renville, Minnesota).

District Description

Renville County West School District is comprised of three communities: Sacred Heart, Renville, and Danube. Our PreK- 12 school building is located in Renville MN, which is about 100 miles west of the Twin Cities on Highway 212.

Job Requirements

The successful candidate must hold or be eligible for a Minnesota License as a Superintendent, or demonstrate their ability to secure licensure during 2021. Previous experience as a superintendent is preferred, but not required.

Transportation Manager

Job Summary:
Planning, directing, coordinating, and overseeing all functions pertaining to the operation of the District’s transportation program; meeting scheduling demands; assisting individuals in the performance of their functions; and resolving and/or recommending solutions to incidents, complaints and/or accidents. Supervise the safe delivery of transportation services to all eligible students residing in District 621.  Responsible for all state and local reports.

Essential job functions include the following:
– Oversee the recruitment, hiring, supervision, work assignments and evaluation of all personnel assigned to transportation.
– Manages District’s transportation contract to ensure safety and cost effective standards in accordance with School Board policy.  Holds contractor to high levels of performance.
– Provide data, prepare specifications and assist with the negotiations of contracts with private carriers as needed; Monitor and ensure compliance with contract terms.
– Directs daily operation of school bus transportation system (coordinated closely with bus contractor) relating to such matters as routing, safety, and school schedules.  Enforces State and School Board regulations and guidelines regarding children, parents and staff.
– Reports to the Department of Public Safety all accidents and student incidents.
– Accumulate necessary data for state reports; complete all information, process documents and file reports in a timely manner.
– Work closely with all building administrators to resolve operational problems in transportation.
– Manages the student transportation software to assure accurate student records and student routing.
– Interacts with parents and staff regarding transportation issues and concerns.
– Review District transportation policies on a yearly basis, and recommend changes as appropriate
– Evaluates program and services to ensure quality service.

Other functions of the job include but are not limited to the following:
