Job Description:                  A full-time (1.0 FTE) Licensed Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) for the Faribault Public Schools.  The BCBA will provide behavior analysis services and develop behavior intervention plans for special education students.  In addition, support and professional learning will be provided to school staff, paraprofessionals, and parents/guardians, with respect to behavior intervention techniques, conducting assessments, and developing behavior intervention plans.  This position commences with the 2020-21 school year on approximately August 24, 2020.

Essential Functions:  The following identifies the primary and essential functions of the position and is not intended to be an exhaustive listing of all duties.  Acts as liaison with the public and mental health community for the purpose of supporting individual student development goals
Collaborates with programs and services for behaviorally or emotionally disturbed students for the purpose of improved functioning and ensuring program eligibility and compliance with established guidelines
Assists with student crisis intervention
Assists in developing interventions, functional behavior assessments and behavior plans for the purpose of providing a safe and effective educational environment for students with challenging behaviors
Assists in developing procedures and training materials for District staff involved with students with challenging behaviors for the purpose of enhancing programs for students and ensuring that program operations are in compliance with established guidelines
Collaborates with school personnel, agencies, and families in coordinating individualized behavior  services  for students;
Collects and summarizes behavioral data
Completes all reporting requirements as mandated by the District, state, federal, and educational agencies (i.e. restraint and seclusion, assessments, behavioral data);
Conducts workshops, training, in-service presentations, etc. in classroom management techniques and other topics for the purpose of developing skills and establishing effective relationships with behaviorally or emotionally challenged students
Facilitates and coaches teams through the development and implementation of functional behavior assessments/behavior interventions plans and crisis plans for identified students
Implements and coaches school personnel on research based methods of classroom management and behavioral strategies;
Participates in the development of Individualized Educational Programs for students
Participates in a variety of meetings, workshops and committees for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions and remaining knowledgeable with program guidelines
Provides social skills instruction to students utilizing research based methodologies and approved District curricula;
Performs related duties as assigned and/or required.

Position Purpose:
Hiawatha Valley Education District is seeking a talented, driven ALC Teacher.  This is a teaching position and program created to collaborate with Minnesota State College Southeast to provide an opportunity for secondary students to take college courses at Minnesota State College Southeast while achieving their high school diploma. This teaching position will provide the opportunity to teach the students high school credits while also scheduling and motivating students in technical and community college courses. This program and the ALC classroom will be within Minnesota State College Southeast, located in Winona, MN.

 

Essential Performance Responsibilities:

Facilitate student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills through implementing district approved curriculum
Collaborate and work with Minnesota State College Southeast to provide the best growth and opportunities for high school students
Create a flexible, safe and optimal learning environment that is conducive to individualized and small group learning
Provide feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations, goals, etc.
Document teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes
Understand and utilize Odysseyware and other online learning curriculum for students

Associate Principal

Speech Language Pathologist (serving Birth-to-Three)

Hiawatha Valley Education District (HVED) is seeking Speech Language Pathologists (SLP) to serve the birth-to-three children and families within Southeast Minnesota.  These positions can be part-time or full-time. This position requires traveling to family homes and daycare centers to provide SLP services.  The SLP assignments within Southeast MN are based on a combination of geographic location, student caseloads and family needs, as well as team and employee preferences.

Travel will occur between district buildings and birth-3 family homes and/or daycare centers.

Elementary Special Education Emotional or Behavior Disorders (EBD) Teacher Grades K-3

EBD Teacher for Kindergarten – Grade 3
Location: Hokah, MN

Position:    
HVED is seeking three, (K-grade 3, grades 4-8 and grades 9-12), FTE talented and motivated full-time Special Education EBD Teachers to work in the SAIL II Program. The SAIL II program is located in Hokah, Minnesota and provides services and support to Kindergarten through High School students during the school day.

Responsibilities Include (but not limited to): 

Accountable for facilitating learning, academic achievement and personal development by providing instruction to children and adolescents
Conduct assessments as part of the special education evaluation process: academic, observations and Functional Behavioral Assessments
Provide case management for students and maintain student records of services provided
Participates in IEP and in-take meetings
Utilizes technology to facilitate learning
Understands and implements the varying learning styles and the needs of a diverse student population
Develop and implement positive behavior and social skills curriculum
Performs other related duties as assigned
