  • School Nutrition Staff – $17.00/hour – $27.67/hour
  • Registered Nurses – Starts at $39.92/hour
  • Licensed Practical Nurse – Starts at $27.01/hour
  • Teachers (first to third years teachers) – $50,271 – $106,000 salary
  • Substitute Teachers – $150.00/day or $200/day for retirees

Position

We are excited to announce a new opportunity with MSBA! 

MSBA is seeking a full-time Director of Member Engagement. This new position will lead the Association’s efforts to increase member engagement and satisfaction. The position will collaborate to create and deliver member programs and events, with a focus on increasing involvement and enhancing the member experience.

This position is a great opportunity for a motivated and creative self-starter with a passion to improve the status quo and bring new ideas to life!

This position has a hybrid working model; it requires occasional evening and weekend hours. Occasional travel is required.

Primary Responsibilities

The Director of Member Engagement will:

  • Plan and execute member engagement programs, including but not limited to projects, campaigns, and events with the goal of retaining and increasing the involvement of current members as well as attracting new members.
  • Establish metrics to evaluate member engagement; monitor member feedback.
  • Establish metrics and measure the success of Association initiatives, events, and resources to ensure continued effectiveness, relevance, and responsiveness.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of member engagement, marketing, communications, and board development initiatives with Association goals and priorities.
  • Identify and engage potential partners who would provide benefit to members.
  • Execute responsibilities with a focus on continuous improvement and superior customer service.
  • Prepare, submit, and present reports, as needed.
  • Establish, maintain, and enhance effective relationships in order to work collaboratively with the MSBA board and staff, MSBA members, partners, and other organizations.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proficient interpersonal skills enabling effective interaction with individuals at all levels, together with a customer-service-oriented approach emphasizing responsiveness and problem-solving.
  • Excellent organizational skills and high attention to accuracy and detail.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with minimal supervision and to collaborate with others as needed.
  • Excellent research, strategic, and analytical skills.
  • Working knowledge of standard computer software and technology (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite and related programs).

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

  • Effective public speaking and presentation skills for small and large groups.
  • Familiarity with local government boards or educational environments, coupled with understanding of public education and school board governance.

Associate Director of Strategic Planning

Position:

MSBA is seeking a full-time Associate Director of Strategic Planning to join the Strategic Planning and Board Leadership Team. This position has a hybrid working model; it requires evening and occasional weekend hours. Some weeks will have multiple evenings with meetings.

Primary Responsibilities:

The Associate Director of Strategic Planning will assist the Director of Strategic Planning with:

  • Facilitating the strategic planning process for school districts, including planning activities, stakeholder engagement, conducting meetings to develop actionable strategic plans, and developing customized resources for each school district.
  • Conducting self-evaluation and assessments for school boards, providing valuable insights and recommendations for improvement.
  • Delivering responsive customer service and handling information requests effectively.
  • Assisting in developing, implementing, and supporting services and programs related to strategic planning, school board leadership, and board governance to meet the unique needs of each school district.
  • Presenting at conferences, workshops, and in-district meetings to share best practices in strategic planning, school board leadership, and board governance.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Exceptional communication, facilitation, and presentation skills, adept at engaging diverse audiences virtually and in-person, ensuring effective communication across all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability in organizational and project management, proficient in handling multiple tasks concurrently while consistently meeting deadlines, ensuring meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks and deliverables.
  • Proficient interpersonal skills enabling effective interaction with individuals at all levels, together with a customer-service-oriented approach emphasizing responsiveness and problem-solving.
  • Proven capability to synthesize information from various sources, distilling data into actionable insights and key messages.
  • Proficient with Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Outlook), virtual meeting platforms, and survey software.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience with strategic planning and school board development.
  • Experience in programs related to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Familiarity with local government boards or educational environments, coupled with understanding of public education and school board governance.

Position

MSBA is seeking a full-time Associate Director of Management Services to join the Management Services team.

This position has a hybrid working model; it requires occasional evening and weekend hours.

Primary Responsibilities

The Associate Director of Management Services will:

  • Research and respond to members’ inquiries on human resources-related matters, negotiations, finance, board-superintendent relations, and other issues related to school district operations.
  • Support and assist with member training sessions, as well as other MSBA programs and services.
  • Assist with review of existing Management Services related materials, programs, and services for accuracy and effectiveness; make modifications to reflect best practices, align to current statute and/or policy protocol and procedure, and meet the changing needs of members and MSBA.
  • Establish, maintain, and enhance relationships in order to work collaboratively with team members, MSBA staff, MSBA members, partners, and other organizations.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Working knowledge of standard computer software and technology (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite and related programs).
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.
