POSITION OVERVIEW:

Under the supervision of the Assistant Director/Principal, the special education teacher for Intermediate School District 917’s Students with Unique Needs (SUN) program at Concord Education Center will play a vital role in providing a consistent, safe environment conducive to learning by providing a broad range of teaching services or specific learning programming and assisting students in the development of skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed as a foundation for future learning in accordance with each student’s ability through the use of a variety of teaching and learning methods at various levels. In this role, one helps model and encourage respect, communication, and competency during student work tasks and during socialization. Professionalism, empathy, and a non-judgmental approach are essential when working with students receiving special education services to ensure their safety and growth and to help them understand and exhibit appropriate behaviors at school and in the community. The special education teacher will be stepping into a team environment daily, where collaboration, communication, and adaptability are key to the success of the individual, the team, and the success of the students. The teacher role is performed following District policy and State/Federal Laws.

ELL Long Term Sub

ELL Program offers English instruction to students whose first language is not English.  The principal duty of the ELL teacher is to instruct students in English and help them acquire language skills to function meaningfully in mainstream classes.  The ELL teacher is also expected to:

  • Test and assess students’ English skills to determine placement and/or exit from service
  • Assist in scheduling ELL classes
  • Maintain student files and record relevant information onto the district database
  • Provide progress reports and/or grades to parents and mainstream staff
  • Address the needs of ELL students with various language capabilities
  • Teach students in small group settings
  • Meet and communicate with parents and mainstream staff
  • Virtually meet and teach students who are distance online learning.

Health Services Supervisor

The Richfield Public Schools is currently accepting applications for a full time, 12 month Health Services Supervisor.  This position coordinates and oversees District health services for staff and students, planning, supervising and implementing the programs, services, operations of the district health services. The health services supervisor also directs the work of health services staff within buildings and programs providing skilled nursing services, nursing treatments, health assessments, evaluation, and program implementation. Duties of the job involve developing and implementing health- related policies and procedures, collaborating with public health and MN Department of Health on school related public health issues, leading district-wide health services, supporting the supervision of health personnel, planning and implementing programs to address health-related barriers to learning, promoting the wellness of students and staff, providing training for administrators and staff. Salary Range: $80,000-$90,000
