Effective immediately, Human Resources is accepting applications for the position of Special Education Assistant at Lincoln Center Elementary (one position) and Kaposia Education Center Elementary (one position).  Based on the 2019-21 Educational Support Professionals Contract, the rate of pay is $19.37 per hour, working Monday-Friday, 6.5 hours per day with a half hour duty-free lunch, school days only.

Job Summary
Assist special education teacher in providing for the physical and instructional needs of students with disabilities in regular and special education setting.  Assist in implementation of classroom programs, including self-help, behavior management, and instruction programs.  Accompany special education students on bus routes as required in the student’s Individual Education Plan (IEP).

Job Functions

Assist students off the bus and into their first class of the day as needed.
Assist students with winter clothing when needed, clearing locker and escort students to the afternoon activity or transportation.
Accompany special education students on bus routes as required in the student’s IEP.   As assigned, ride the bus and supervise students as they enter and leave the bus, monitor for behavioral or physical needs to ensure student safety.
Assist students with self-care activities including but not limited to toileting, dressing, eating as required by Case Manager.
Assist students to be safe and socially appropriate on the playground or recess activities.
Follow case manager or special education teacher directions in modifying or accommodating student assignments.
Work within the special education program such as SUN or EBD to assist students with teacher assigned tasks.  Modify or accommodate as directed by the special education teacher
Regularly monitor student progress using collection techniques developed by case manager or special education teacher.
Follow Individual Education Plan (IEP)and Positive Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) as directed by case manager.
Perform accurate and timely reporting of services and progress for student’s IEP, Third Party Billing records, report cards, progress notes and/or conferences.
Adhere to staff and program guidelines and district policies.
Other duties as assigned by Director of Special Services.

Provides instructional and curriculum leadership at the school.  Implements the policies of the school board under the direction of the superintendent of schools; works together with the Central Office Team to provide high quality educational programs for all students; supervises personnel within the individual school; performs a variety of duties involved in the operations including instruction and school planning.

Start Time and End Time will vary based on practice schedules and meet times

Candidates should have knowledge in training high school athletes in horizontal jumps and/or pole vault – preferably both, but candidate’s expertise in either one or the other will be considered.  Candidates should be prepared to work with high school student athletes with a wide range of skill level.

Position Description:
Buffalo-Hanover-Montrose Schools is seeking an Elementary School Principal who has the vision and expertise necessary to provide educational leadership at Tatanka Elementary STEM School K-5.  Approximately 460 students, 35 licensed staff, and 25 classified staff attend and work at Tatanka Elementary School.

ISD 877 is a 45-minute drive northwest of the Twin Cities.  Approximately 5,600 students district wide attend 6 elementary schools, 1 middle school, 1 high school, 1 alternative high school and 1 transitions program.

We are looking for a highly motivated and collaborative teacher who is willing to utilize innovative teaching strategies to prepare students for college and careers.  Candidate must be willing to work with teams of teachers, be an excellent communicator, be highly organized, successful in building and maintaining strong relationships with all students, and data driven.  Provide science instruction to Owatonna High School students in the areas of Chemistry and Physical Science.

Qualifications:
Valid MN teaching license in the following area:  Physical Sciences (Physics & Chem)  Qualified candidates may have a Chemistry License or a Physical Science-Chemistry license.
