Summary of Job Duties:  The Academic Specialist will work with students, focusing on 9th graders, in their academic classes at Faribault High School.  The primary purpose of the Academic Specialist is to improve the academic achievement of students through interventions and check-ins.  Days will be spent working with students in our study halls, media center, or virtually.  This person will be expected to work with families of students and be able to reach out to our Distance Learning students and families.

Essential Functions:Serve as a member of the High School Staff
Re-teach academic content in the areas of English, Science, Math and Social Studies in small groups
Work with students during school.
Collaborate with Teachers
Monitor and communicate student progress with students, families, administrators, and staff
Monitor and communicate weekly assignments, activities and assessments with teachers and families.
Monitor student attendance and communicate with parents as necessary
Stay current with best practices research and strategies
Other duties as assigned

Paraprofessional, Substitute, Part-Time

School Van Route Driver

Lewiston-Altura Public Schools is accepting applications for a school van route driver. The position available will cover morning, mid-day, and afternoon routes, based on student needs. Applicants must have valid driver’s license, pass a criminal background check, and pass a check of their driving record. Driver is also subject to random drug & alcohol testing and annual driving record checks (in accordance with Minnesota State Laws). LTS – School Social Worker

POSITION: Full-time Long Term Substitute School Social Worker for Jordan High School.

SUMMARY: To assist students to function in the educational environment by addressing the student’s personal, social and emotional needs as they pertain to school, home and community. Have a strong background in section 504 plans and due process procedures.

SALARY: Per Teacher Contract

REPORTS TO: Special Services Director and Building Principal

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • MN Board of Social Work Licensure
  • MN Board of Education School Social Work Licensure
  • Master’s degree in Social Work Preferred or Master’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in guidance/counseling and appropriate licensure through PELSB.
