The hours will be 7:45 a.m. until 2:45 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, and 7:45 a.m. until 2:15 p.m. on Wednesdays. A two-year Associates Degree, 60 college credits or a passing score on the State of Minnesota Competency exam is preferred. The Director of Community Education and Activities will manage and coordinate school district Community Education programs including childcare, enrichment, P-12 athletics and activities, and district facility management. The Director of Community Education and Activities will manage the Community Education and activities budgets and resources to best meet the needs of the Central Public Schools community.

Central Public Schools is a public school district that serves the communities of Hamburg, Norwood Young America and Cologne. Situated right on Highway 212, Central Public Schools is just 20 minutes from the 494/694 loop and is one of the fastest growing areas in Carver County. Central Public Schools serves 915 students and the district supports two buildings. In 2019, the communities supported an operational and technology levy, passing it at 66% approval. The district is in the process of completing a new Strategic Plan and branding initiative.

The Houston Public Schools’ main office is in Houston, Minnesota. The school district has an approximate enrollment of 450 pre-kindergarten through grade twelve students. The District also hosts the Minnesota Virtual Academy (MNVA), an online school with approximately 2,500 students across the state.

SALARY/CONTRACT: The current superintendent’s base salary for the 2020-2021 school year is $122,623. The final salary will be negotiated commensurate with experience and qualifications. The contract length is negotiable as provided in Minnesota statute.
