Job Summary
Plan, oversee and execute a comprehensive and proactive district-wide communications and public relations program; implement and carry out strategies that effectively promote the school district.

Job Functions

Create and execute a comprehensive, strategic and integrated internal and external communication plan to ensure consistency of district communications.
Communicate for a variety of audiences and purposes including a community news publication, staff e-news, district website, district social media accounts, marketing materials, news releases and other print and electronic communications.
Manage and update district website and production of all major school district publications.
Coordinate district social media campaigns such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram; assist in the implementation of school/program based social media campaigns.
Assist school office staff with communication to families and staff.
Provide graphic design work for schools, departments and programs throughout the district.
Assist Superintendent with communication and organizational needs in major district initiatives.
Coordinate and support communications, marketing plan and programs that support School District goals and mission and enhances the school district’s image in the community.
Coordinate and promote ongoing efforts of the district’s strategic objectives, values, and overall mission.
Serve as the key spokesperson for the district, as needed, and provide support to district leaders in issues involving media relations.
Support district-wide community engagement efforts and promote positive media coverage of district.
Manage media relations and other communications during crises.
Coordinate school district surveys and collections of employee, student, parent, and community feedback.
Other duties as assigned.

Special Education Teacher (SLD or ABS)

Worthington ISD 518 is seeking a Special Education SLD (specific learning disability) or ABS (academic/behavior strategist) certified teacher at Prairie Elementary.

Qualifications/General duties:
Case management and direct service provider, assessment knowledge and IEP development, experience with collaboration and/or co-teaching, knowledge of interventions for students with cognitive delays, learning disabilities and challenging behaviors.  Salary will be as per the Teacher Master Agreement. Job Summary
Develop the student’s fullest acquisition of knowledge, skills, concepts, and attitudes.

Job Functions

Plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time that provides students with opportunities to observe, question, and investigate.
Instruct students individually and in groups, using various teaching methods.  Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students’ varying needs and interests.
Observe and evaluate students’ performance, behavior, social development, and physical health.
Deliver the district’s written, taught and assessed curriculum.
Maintain knowledge and skills with IB Program changes and updates.
Create a positive environment to ensure successful learning for all students.
Meet with parents and guardians to discuss their children’s progress, and to determine priorities for their children’s social, emotional and academic growth.
Partner with parents or guardians, teachers, counselors, and administrators in order to support students’ academic and social-emotional development.
Maintain accurate and complete student records as required by laws, district policies, and administrative regulations.
Adhere to all district policies and procedures.
Support the district’s mission, vision, values and strategic plan.
Prepare objectives and outlines for courses of study, following curriculum guidelines or requirements of states and schools.
Collaborate with other staff members to plan and schedule lessons promoting learning, following approved curricula.
Meet with other professionals to discuss individual students’ needs and progress.
Administer standardized, formative and state mandated assessments and interpret results to determine student strengths and areas of need.
Model the IB Learner Profile with students, families and staff
Attend professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops in order to maintain and improve professional competence.
Understand and maintain boundaries and confidentiality with students, families and staff.
Other duties as assigned.

Long Term Substitute Health Science Teacher – East/Central High Schools

East/Central High Schools

Mankato Area Public Schools has a full-time (1.00 FTEs) position available as a Long Term Substitute Health Science Teacher beginning November 30 and ending February 1, 2021.

Summary of duties: Teaching includes Intro to Health Occupations, Disease & Disorder, Nursing Assistant and Emergency Care.  Teacher will deliver instruction to senior high students that is designed to develop students’ understanding of health care systems, medical communication, ethics, and safety issues for patients and providers.

Qualifications:  Must have a Minnesota teaching license.
