Position Summary: The Controller will assist the Director of Finance & Operations with the direction and supervision of the accounting system; manage the day-to-day business operation of the district in accordance with accepted accounting procedures, including state and federal guidelines; and communicate financial condition of the district to the school board, administration, and community.
Position Requirements: A bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in accounting/finance/business is required. Experience in school finance and a CPA license preferred; experience with SMART finance preferred.
Other Skills & Abilities: Comprehensive knowledge of general laws and administrative policies governing school district financial practices and procedures; comprehensive knowledge of the principles and practices of accounting and budgeting in school districts; ability to evaluate financial systems and efficiently formulate and install accounting methods, procedures, forms, and records; ability to prepare informative financial reports; ability to plan, organize, direct and evaluate the work of subordinate employees; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, governmental officials, and the general public. Excellent organizational skills; highly developed oral and written communication skills; successful experience working with individuals and groups; demonstrated ability in problem-solving and conflict resolution; and excellent interpersonal skills. Must understand and comply with all protocols related to data privacy. Ability to perform duties with an awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies required. Demonstrated consistent and reliable attendance.
Rate of Pay:
D-6-2 // $89,482 – $133,099 depending on experience.
