Norman County West Elementary is now accepting applications for a 1.0 FTE Elementary Teacher. This will be for a combination of .5 Reading Teacher/.5 FTE STEM. This instructor will be working with students in grades K-5 beginning the 2020-2021 school year.  Be a part of an innovative, exciting and collaborative team.

Job Summary:

Within federal and state law and regulations and district policy and practice:

-Responsible for the management of the instructional program for assigned students.
-Responsible for establishing and maintaining an atmosphere conducive to learning within the classroom and assist in the same throughout the building.
-Responsible for the assessment of student progress.
-Responsible for keeping records on each child as a basis for instruction and document daily analysis of the child’s progress and adapt teaching based on data.
-Responsible for collaborating with classroom teachers to plan ways to make classroom instruction spronsibe to intervention.
-Responsible for other duties as assigned by the building principal which are necessary to fulfill the basic function of the position and are consistent with the Master Agreement.
-Develops and delivers program curriculum involving hands-on activities and projects using STEM concepts and MN Academic Standards and integrating academic and career technical education with 21st century skills.
-Evidence of productive experience with problem-based and project based learning.
-Proven ability to apply science and/or math content knowledge, formative assessment, and technology integration at a high level.
-Has the ability to maintain project materials and a budget is resourceful.
-Can collaborate with colleagues and build partnerships between grades and in the communities.
-Is a creative thinker and curriculum designer. Interest in gamification, coding, and/or digital design.
-Uses technology to promote learning, creativity and collaboration.
-A clear understanding of the integrated relationship of the STEM components (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).
-Has a deep understanding of student learning theory, brain-based learning, and differentiated instruction.

C.E. Jacobson Elementary (PreK-6) is looking for a full time 5th Grade Teacher with a focus in math to begin in the 2020-2021 school year. Our fifth and sixth grade students function in a middle-school model and this teacher will spend 90% of their time teaching math. The ability to build relationships with students, colleagues, and the community will be imperative.  Hours will be school days, aligned with the Teachers Master Contract. 5th Grade Teacher – Social Studies/Science and Writing

Experience working in a PBIS district that uses daily learning targets, and understands the Daily 5 structure, will be given strong consideration.
