Position Summary

Hours: 3.75 hours per day

Compensation / Benefits:  Per Unit Agreement

Description:  Provide support to special education students. Work under the direction of special educators to reinforce instructional strategies, provide behavior support, and assist with personal care  in all school environments. Work as a team member to implement IEP based instructional goals and adaptations including assistive technology. Collect student data and third party billing record documentation. Promote inclusion and self sufficiency of students in the school community.

Qualifications:  Must meet highly qualified standards as defined by the state; completion of AA degree, 60 college level credits or completion of para-pro exam. Completion of a pre-employment physical is also required.

Special Education Teacher

Brainerd Learning Center is seeking a positive, caring and supportive individual to join our team as a full-time Special Education Teacher beginning with the 2019-2020 school year.  This teacher will work with our middle and high school students to promote academic growth in a unique environment that provides students with flexible scheduling, along with traditional and individualized learning options.  The successful candidate will provide a personalized educational experience that is tailored to meet the individual needs and goals of each student, as well as assist student in exploring career options that will lead them to be a contributing member of our community.  Candidate must have a MN Special Education license or be willing to complete special education licensure within three years.
