Hiawatha Valley Education District is seeking a talented, self-motivated Director of Special Education. This position serves the Education District’s level IV ASD Program (SPECTRUM) located in Caledonia and Lanesboro Minnesota. This position also services multiple school districts within the Education District: Caledonia School District, Spring Grove School District, Mabel-Canton School District, and Lanesboro School District.

Special Education Instructional Assistant

Art & Science Academy has an immediate opening for a Special Education Instructional Assistant.

Ideal candidates for this position will enjoy working with students of all ages in an innovative, supportive and dynamic educational setting and will enjoy working collaboratively with others daily.

Assist in the educational and social development of students under the direction/guidance of case manager/teacher

Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans for the students and monitor their progress.

Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities. Work with other professionals, such as speech therapist, social worker, occupational and physical therapists.

Support students with emotional or behavior concerns and assist them in developing appropriate social skills.
