Position: Data, Assessment & Research Coordinator

Position Summary

FTE:  1.0

Days:  221 – Year Round Position

Description:  ISD 191 is a suburban Minneapolis system of 8,900 students comprised of the communities of Burnsville, Eagan, and Savage. District 191’s dynamic leadership team is highly committed to working each day to align the work of adults throughout our system, and within our community, around improving the learning of each of our students. We are committed to finding innovative leaders who value working in a collaborative culture with colleagues and staff.

Summary: To support Systems Improvement and Student Achievement, specifically in the areas of data, assessment and research.  To assist district staff with student data and data analysis for the purpose of increasing student achievement and decreasing existing achievement gaps. To lead the coordination state mandated assessments district-wide.  Assist with providing a culturally inclusive and welcoming environment.

Education/Experience:  MA in a related field with three years or more of successful applicable experience, exceptional understanding of state mandated testing as well as understanding of MN State Standards framework, adult learning and experience using technology to amplify and transform education. Superior experience collecting, analyzing and reporting data. Advanced ability to utilize computer software including MS Excel, and experience with student information systems.  Knowledge and understanding of cultural proficiency and educational equity and willingness to be a learner.

Essential Job Functions

Culturally Proficient School System.  Desire to strengthen a Culturally Proficient School System. Demonstrated ability to apply frameworks to ensure all processes are implemented through the lens of Cultural Proficiency.
Data-Based Decision Making. Analyze and evaluate relevant information/data to plan and implement strategies that support sustainable, improved student and system outcomes.
Instructional and Technology Resources. Provide assistance in maintaining instructional and technology resources and systems used to inform and enhance instruction.
Research and Assessment. Analyse district data, including student achievement data, and support leaders with the use of that data for decision-making.  Coordinate and support district-wide testing and assessment processes through scheduling testing, providing technical support, maintaining student assessment data, coordinating state mandated reports and organizing correspondence with families.
Professional Development. Under the supervision of the Director of Curriculum Instruction and Assessment, co-develop and deliver professional development that supports the use of culturally competent practices amongst teaching staff. Train appropriate staff to give and use assessment tools and data. Help school leaders develop plans for staff development related to data and assessment.
