Special Education Assistant (Temporary Position)
Temporary position; effective immediately through January 31, 2019.
Help special education teacher provide for physical and instructional needs of students with disabilities in regular and special education setting. Assist in implementation of classroom programs, including self-help, behavior management, and instruction programs. Position always includes bus duty, accompany special education students on bus routes as required in the student’s IEP.

Support the District’s instructional program by assessing the academic deficiencies of the students, planning remediation in reading and/or mathematics, and delivering supplemental instruction.

Assistant Director of Transportation
JOB FUNCTIONS: Develop and implement school bus routes and maintains information concerning routes, student assignment, and stop location for regular education and special education students. Coordinate all transportation services for the District.
REPORTS TO: Chief Human Resources Officer.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1.Has the primary responsibility to develop and implement the safe, efficient routing of all buses for all programs providing bus transportation in the District and to ensure effective communication and coordination of the same. 2.Receives, assesses and responds to incidents and/or complaints (e.g. safety issues, route issues, student issues etc.) for the purpose of resolving or recommending a resolution to the situation. 3.Acts as liaison to Safe Way Bus Company. 4.Understands and follows the District’s policies, safety guidelines, and DOT procedures related to routing. 5.Continuously monitors and analyzes arrival, layover, and departure times of buses, student loads, special needs of students, length of rides, and various other data to ensure efficient routing. Makes needed corrections as required. 6.Makes recommendations on bell times, vehicle type and size, etc. that would enhance efficiency and cost effectiveness. 7.Monitors student ridership and assists with management of student information in the routing system. 8.Receives route placement/modification notifications and implements necessary changes in routes on a timely basis. 9.Assigns all field trip and midday work in compliance with District policy and directives by administration. 10. Perform other duties as assigned.
