Job Summary:
Act as instructional and supervisor leader for the school in absence of the principal.  Assist in supervision of all employees, and manage operations of the school to ensure implementation of curriculum and educational standards according to State law and District policy.

Essential job functions include the following:
– Serve as the chief administrative officer of the building in the absence of the principal.

– Assist the principal in the operation of the school, giving direction and supervision to the instructional program, implementing the policies of the School Board, and carrying out the directives of the Superintendent of Schools.

– Share with the principal the organization, general supervision, and evaluation of the total certified and non-certified staff.

– Administer and enforce the discipline and student control policies set forth by the School board which may include detention, suspension, and parent contact.

– Supervise the attendance procedure and records.

– Maintain awareness of the trends, changes, and concerns relating to education on the national, state, and local levels that will affect the school.

– Develop a schedule of staff supervision responsibility.

– Develop a master schedule for teachers which includes their teaching assignments and teaching stations.

– Assist the principal in the hiring of new personnel.

– Secure and assign staff to supervise various activities during both the regular and extended school day.

– Supervise the grounds and plant to ensure the maximum safety and well being of the student body.

– Assist the principal in conducting staff and in-service meetings.

– Be involved, where appropriate, in parent/student and student/teacher conferences.

– Respond to calls and concerns expressed by parents relative to staff members.

– Supervise student activities, both curricular and extra-curricular.

– Cooperate with district and bus company personnel organizing and supervising the bus transportation of students.

– Distribute and maintain an accurate record of all keys issued to school personnel.

– Assist the principal in planning orientation and opening workshop activities.

– Work cooperatively with law enforcement and social agencies.

– Revise teacher student handbooks annually.

– Supervise the collection of student financial obligations.

Summary:

The primary responsibility of this job is to assist the Building Principal in the performance of various leadership responsibilities; works collaboratively to provide high quality educational programs for all students; assists in student behavior management: and supervises non-licensed staff within the building.

Assist in development and implementation of an effective staff development program

Student Management:

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

A current teacher’s license issued by the Minnesota Department of Education is required.
Enrollment in or completion of MN administrative licensure program is preferred.

Experience:

Extensive successful teaching experience
Successful prior supervisory experience in education preferred.

Knowledge of district policies and procedures, student management and discipline.
Proficient in technology and demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to set priorities, handle multiple tasks, organize tasks, take direction from several sources, and give work direction.

Job Summary:

Under direct supervision, this is a professional position that provides human resource support services for internal and external customers.  The position has direct accountability for various responsibilities of the District’s human resource department as it relates to handling confidential and complex duties while maintaining a broad based knowledge relating to a wide range of personnel policies and procedures, human resource functions, administrative rules, interpretation of collective bargaining agreements and related work as apparent or assigned.

This is a consultative and customer service oriented position that requires excellent communication skills, resourcefulness, sound critical thinking and problem-solving skills, project coordination, data management, report generation, and advanced computer and technology skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  •  Responds or assists in the resolution of process and/or procedural problems and inquiries received from employees, department representatives, administrators and external customers relating to human resource functions in a timely manner.
  • Implements and monitors the employee paid leave system, ensuring accuracy of employee entries, accruals and deductions.
  • Maintains the District’s performance management system to ensure entry of all required performance evaluations and documentation required for Q-Comp eligible employees.
  • Prepares and submits the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) required Staff Automated Reporting (STAR) on a semi-annual basis.
  • Maintains accurate employee assignment information in the District’s HRIS system.
  • Compiles and maintains state requested reports for the Department of Economic Security and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
  • Runs license expiration reports, notifies employees of expiring licenses and tracks renewals in the District’s HRIS system.
  • Prepares and posts seniority lists annually for all district bargaining groups as required per contract.
  • Completes and retains I-9 documentation in compliance with the Department of Homeland Security.
  • Processes lane change requests, ensuring eligible staff have successfully completed all requirements for submission.
  • Processes COBRA and retiree continuation and acts as a liaison with third party administrator.
  • Processes employment and insurance verifications as requested.
  • Reviews employee requested changes to address, direct deposit and W-4 information and communicates changes to payroll.
  • Facilitates new driver and random drug and alcohol testing for all District drivers.
  • Supports retro pay calculations, as needed, upon settlements of contracts by providing step movement and longevity information to payroll.
  • Supports the selection and on-boarding process for all new employees including monitoring completion of background checks, paperwork and licensure.
  • Supports the District Office front desk by providing back-up coverage when needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
