Paraprofessional- Middle School

 

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, supervision of students indoors and/or out of doors, tutoring students under the direct supervision of a teacher, general classroom clerical support, assisting students with hygiene needs, facilitating behavioral redirection and intervention, physically transferring students and assisting in ACE instructional job responsibilities. Jobs now available are (NOTE: the days/year are the usual, total annual days. Jobs starting after the beginning of the school year are prorated for the remainder of the school year):

 

Location: Middle School; 1 to 1 ASD Special Education Para for 2018-19

Paid Work Hours: 6.5 hours/day; 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Days/Year (includes 7 holidays): 179

 

QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma required. Demonstrated aptitude and competence for assigned responsibilities. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

 

WAGES: As per the current paraprofessional master agreement.

Tuesdays: 8:00-1:00  (2 student group sessions, 8:30-10:30, 10:30-12:30)

Staff will target extended school year instruction on identified skills for maintenance.
-Staff will develop measures of assessment to determine outcomes of student learning during the extended school year instruction and share outcomes with student case managers.
-Staff will differentiate student group instruction in alignment with goals and objectives identified for skills maintenance.
