Required Qualifications:
1)  Must possess MN Language Arts license that qualifies candidate to teach grades 6-8
2)  Ability to establish and maintain high academic standards and positive working relationship with students
3)  Demonstrated ability to work well with colleagues
4)  Effective communication skills
5)  Demonstrated ability in classroom management
6)  Most important, a commitment to reaching all students and a concern for the academic achievement of each student

Desired Qualifications:
1) Experience working with middle students

Science Teacher (.8 FTE)

Edina Public Schools has a Science teaching (.8 FTE) position available at Edina High School beginning August 20, 2018.  It is our hope that the individual can teach both General Chemistry and General Biology.

Montessori Elementary Teacher: 4th – 6th Grade

Provide classroom instruction to elementary students in a montessori classroom.

Qualifications:
– Valid Minnesota teaching licensure and certification in assigned field.

– Collaboration with colleagues, parents and students.

– Demonstrated understanding of cultural competence.
– Demonstrated use of research based instructional and engagement strategies to meet the continuum of individual learning needs.
– Experience with Balanced Literacy.
– Ability to use data and assessments to guide instructional decisions.
– Bi-lingual skills in Spanish or Somali desired.
– Consistent and reliable attendance is required.

Other Skills & Abilities:
Provide a variety of strategies in working with students, and maintain flexibility in day-to-day dealing with staff, parents, and stakeholders.  Excellent service orientation and interpersonal communications skills with internal and external customers. Must understand and comply with all protocols related to data privacy.  Ability to perform duties with an awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
