In-house substitute teachers are responsible for providing rigorous,
standards-based, and highly engaging learning environments for their
scholars. The in-house substitute will be charged with following a
teacher’s plan in order to lead instruction whenever a teacher is out of
the building. The in-house substitute will strive to ensure that all
Hiawatha Academies scholars are empowered with the knowledge,
character, and leadership skills to graduate from college and serve
the common good. The in-house substitute will work alongside
teachers and paraeducators, and under the guidance of campus
leadership.

English Language Development Teacher

English Language Development (ELD) teachers are responsible for
providing rigorous, standards-based, and highly engaging learning
environments for their scholars. ELD teachers will support language
development through a dynamic approach to instruction focused on
the integration of language and content. Instructional models
primarily include co-teaching and sheltered instruction.
All teachers will strive to ensure that all Hiawatha Academies scholars
are empowered with the knowledge, character, and leadership skills
to graduate from college and serve the common good. ELD teachers
will work alongside grade level teammates, special education
teachers, specialist teachers, and under the guidance of the campus
leadership team.

2nd Grade Teacher

Elementary teachers are responsible for providing rigorous,
standards-based, and highly engaging learning environments for their
scholars. Teachers will strive to ensure that all Hiawatha Academies
scholars are empowered with the knowledge, character and
leadership skills to graduate from college and serve the common
good. Elementary teachers will work alongside grade level
teammates, special education teachers, specialist teachers, and
under the guidance of the campus leadership team.The Elementary
Teacher prepares lessons and provides instruction to students.

Job Title

District Administrator.  SASD is seeking a full-time District Administrator effective July 1, 2025.

About the District

The School District of Spooner is located within both Washburn and Burnett Counties in northwestern Wisconsin. The District is comprised of the City of Spooner and all or part of 20 townships in the greater Spooner area. The District’s approximately 550 square miles make it one of Wisconsin’s largest school districts in terms of geographical area.

The District services students at three schools located in the City of Spooner. Spooner Elementary School (SES) serves 4K through 4th grade, Spooner Middle School (SMS) serves 5th through 8th grade students and Spooner High School (SHS) serves the District’s 9th through 12th grade population. The District also provides early childhood special education services for the community, and provides the majority of the financial support for the Washburn County Alternative School located in Spooner. The District’s 2024-2025 approximate enrollment is just over 1,000 students.

Technical Job Requirements

The successful candidate must hold a Wisconsin license as a Principal, but WI licensure as a District Administrator is preferred.  Candidates may also explain their ability to secure WI district Administrator licensure by June 30, 2025. Previous experience as a District Administrator is preferred but not required.
