English/Language Arts Teacher – Grades 9-12 (1.0 FTE)

New Ulm High School; 1600 Oak Street, New Ulm, MN

Job Summary:  

The certified teacher develops lesson plans, conducts classroom instruction, evaluates and assesses both instructional material and student performance.  The teacher interprets student progress and communicated regularly with parents about student strengths, weaknesses and/or programs. The teacher is a member of an interdisciplinary team and works collaboratively with colleagues to make decisions about team programming and supporting students through intervention and enrichment.

Start Date:   

New Teacher orientation begins August 20, 2018

Director of Human Resources

Job Summary: Under the direction of the Executive Director of Human Resources, the Director of Human Resources works in a shared leadership model with another Human Resources Director with  responsibility for various personnel functions and/or employee groups in the areas of recruitment, selection, compensation, benefits, grievance administration, performance management administration, compliance reporting, staff development, employee relations or other human resource programs and initiatives as delegated by the Executive Director of Human Resources.  The Director, Human Resources is expected to provide broad program oversight and administration in assigned areas: development of personnel policies, procedures and strategic planning, assistance in collective bargaining, and management advice and assistance to district administrators in matters pertaining to personnel administration.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Human Resource Functions – Formulates, administers and implements programs and human resource functions in the areas of recruitment, selection, performance management, employee relations, and training/staff development.

Oversee and implement recruitment and retention strategic priorities.
Provide direction and leadership to Worker’s Compensation unit.
Manage ADA function to ensure compliance with applicable law.
Manage employee leave processes.
Monitor performance management and evaluation procedures to determine if procedures, timeframes, criteria and evaluations are performed in accordance with policies and procedures.
Develop and implement effective programs to promote a positive and effective work environment.
Supervise and coordinate the activities of personnel support staff in the Human Resource Department in the maintenance of human resource records and human resource support functions.
Plan for, coordinate and implement staff development, orientation, or educational opportunities activities and programs for staff.
Develop procedures and processes for the administration and ongoing review of the classification system and the documentation of essential duties and functions of all district positions.
Ensure that relations with employees comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
Direct alternative dispute resolution processes and coordinate grievance procedures resulting from employee-manager disputes.
Work collaboratively to resolve grievances and other labor issues, including arbitration.
Collaborate with the Human Resources Leadership team and district legal counsel in sensitive employment matters.

Support hiring managers – Work with the Human Resources Leadership team to support hiring managers.Provide assistance, direction and consultation to hiring managers concerning policies, procedures, contract language, sound human resource practices, or in matters pertaining to compliance issues.
Collaborate on the creation of professional development for hiring managers.
Support the Human Resources Leadership team to ensure job descriptions are accurate and well defined for every employee position and that they align to the organizational structure.
Support the development, implementation and improvement of evaluation systems for all employees.
Manage employee performance systems to ensure maximum organizational performance.
Consult with managers on performance and disciplinary concerns.
Support managers and supervisors in effective talent management strategies.

Strategic human resource leadership – Work with the Human Resource Leadership Team to manage human resources strategic planning to align with the district’s mission.Participate in the development and implementation of the Human Resources strategic planning goals.
Ensure that every aspect of the human resources function incorporates the vision, core values, and culture of the organization.
Collaborate on the development of the human resources department goals, objectives and systems to provide strategic support focused on the mission of the district.
Implement systems, processes, policies, and practices to meet the short and long-range organizational needs focused on human capital.
Monitor outcomes related to and prepare periodic reports to display progress toward strategic goal accomplishment.
Leverage internal and external resources to address change management, coaching, leadership development, succession planning, knowledge management, measurement systems, employee development and support the organization’s work in intercultural competence.
Participate in professional development opportunities and system committees.
Conduct employee investigations to ensure compliance with all applicable laws, policies, procedures, and District expectations for staff.
Other duties as assigned – Performs other comparable duties of a like or similar nature as assigned.

Social Behavior Services Coordinator

The St. Croix River Education District has an opening for a Social Behavior Services Coordinator beginning the 2 018-19
school year. A Social Behavior Services Coordinator functions as a Special Education Coordinator in the area of social behavior. This position will provide support to SCRED Member District teachers who work with students who have emotional and behavioral needs (i.e., functional behavior assessment, individual student consultation, program planning, professional learning).  In addition, the position will assist districts in setting up or refining school-wide positive behavioral supports within a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework.  Primary assignment will be supporting the East Central, Hinckley-Finlayson, Pine City and Rush City School Districts.

Instructional Coach
