Special Education Resource Teacher (1.0)

Required Qualifications:
1. Current MN License in ASD, EBD, DCD, LD or ABS;
2. Extensive experience in working with multi-categorical groups and case management;
3. Excellent collaboration skills and communication skills;
4. Knowledge of due process in the areas of evaluation and educational planning;
5. Experience with Positive Behavioral Intervention Systems, conducting Functional Behavior Assessments, writing Behavior Intervention Plans, Crisis Prevention Intervention training. If lacking this experience, full training within one year is required;
6. Knowledge in Secondary Transition Planning;
7. Ability to perform all job duties, with or without accommodations;

Desired Qualifications:

Cultural Liaison

Teaching Assistant

Position is Monday-Friday, school days only. Hours are approximately 8:30-3:30.

Purpose:

To work in partnership with grade level teachers, developing plans, implementing programs to meet the needs of individual learners, and to provide flexibility within the learning environment
To provide additional supervision across the Lower School

Primary Functions

Teaching
Assist in literacy and math to support learner differences
Literacy
Assess students
Work in guided reading groups or literacy circles
Provide enriched literacy experiences
Math
Deliver and monitor daily Math Facts work, collect data
Meet with smaller math groups, per teacher request
Assist in preparation of lessons
Assess students using in-house testing and leveling systems
Facilitate small groups per teacher request
Assist in day-to-day classroom operations

Supervision Duties

All Teaching Assistants accompany their classes to lunch and recess. Additionally, all Teaching Assistants will be assigned additional duties throughout the school day. These will be divided among all the Teaching Assistants. Possible duty assignments include:
