This teaching assignment is for a Middle Level classroom teacher in a separate educational program for students with emotional and behavior disorders. Provide behavior management, social skills instruction, and academic instruction for students in a self contained classroom. Responsible for completing all due process procedures and supervising educational assistants. The district has two positions open.
Educational Assistant
POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Assist classroom teachers in carrying out all responsibilities associated withelementary immersion teaching assignment. * Assist classroom teachers in conducting classroom instruction of all basicsubjects in Spanish. * Work with small groups or individual students in math and/or reading *Assist teacher as needed * Collaborate with grade-level team members, program specialists, programcoordinator, director, and other staff regarding program implementation. * Maintain knowledge of current and emerging trends, procedures, and evaluationprocesses in immersion programs. * Participate in in-service program planning and staff development activities. * Participate in immersion and the International Baccalaureate OrganizationPrimary Years Programme training programs. * General supervision during recess, lunch, arrival and dismissal.
Occupational Therapist (3058)
Under the direction of the Director of Special Services, the Occupational Therapist is responsible for planning, implementing and providing direct occupational services to children with special educational needs to assist them improve, develop, restore, or maintain their participation in school work, self-help or play in educational environments consistent with state and federal laws, regulations and guidelines. Incumbents are responsible for implementing occupational therapy services as delineated by the IEP and for assisting student meet IEP goals and objectives.
