The Delano school district is an award winning school district located 30 minutes west of Minneapolis. The Technology Support Specialist ensures and maintains efficient operations of computer and networking resources for the district. The position performs administrative tasks related to the maintenance of the district’s servers and computing network, provides technical assistance to internal computer users, investigates and resolves computer software and hardware problems including printer and connectivity issues. The Technology Support Specialist (LAN/PC Support) is responsible for providing primary support for LAN and PC hardware and software for assigned site, troubleshooting PC hardware and software, and assisting end users with day-to-day operating problems. This position will train staff in basic microcomputer and Chromebook operation, PC, networking applications, and serve as the LAN administrator for the building assigned. Must also be willing to assist other Technology Staff as needed.

Work Schedule: 8 hours per day and 41 weeks per year beginning August 15, 2016. Job Description: The technology support specialist provides software and hardware support of network systems and peripherals in person and via phone. This position serves as a primary contact for technology service requests from staff and builds rapport with the user community to provide customer service to staff and students as needed or requested; communicates technology initiatives to end users; attends district, building, department or professional meetings or trainings as needed and required; performs preventative maintenance, including checking and cleaning of end user devices; installs software and maintains inventory of site-based devices; provides audio and video support; identifies and troubleshoots basic user needs in our Student Information System, Google Apps for Education and other educational programs; and supports the technological needs of standardized testing in collaboration with assessment coordinators, school administrators and teaching staff.
