DISTRICT INFORMATION:

The South Washington County School district includes four St. Paul suburbs of Cottage Grove, Newport, St. Paul Park and Woodbury as well as portions of three other communities.  Our district includes approximately 100,000 residents with 19,000 students enrolled in our schools. We have sixteen (K-5) elementary schools, four (6-8) middle schools, three (9-12) high schools and an alternative high school.

PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Serve as a building instructional leader.
  • Create and maintain a school culture focused on learning and continuous improvement.
  • Establish and promote high standards and expectations for all students and staff for academic performance and personal responsibility.
  • Develop and administer annual master schedule for instructional programs, ensuring sequential learning experiences for all students.
  • Continually monitor student progress and outcomes.  Work with staff to improve student learning and achievement.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication and public relations with staff, students, parents and community members through all programs and activities.
  • Prepare and manage budget for the building, maintain accurate budgetary records as required by district policies and procedures.
  • Establish a high performing staff through effective hiring and evaluation systems.  Develop, coach, train, mentor and manage staff as appropriate.
  • Manage, evaluate and supervise effective and clear procedures for the operation and functioning of the school consistent with the philosophy, mission, values, goals and strategic plan of the school district including instructional programs, extracurricular activities, building maintenance, program evaluation, personnel management, office operations and emergency procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all laws, school board policies and school district procedures.
  • Supervise the instructional programs of the school on a regular basis to ensure the use of effective instructional strategies, content and materials consistent with research on learning and child growth and development.
  • Work with staff to identify professional needs and plan, organize, and facilitate programs that improve staff effectiveness.
  • Ensure a safe, orderly environment that encourages staff and students to take responsibility for behavior and creates high morale among staff and students.
  • Establish a professional rapport with students and staff. Display the highest ethical and professional behavior and standards when working with students, parents and school personnel.
  • Serve as a role model.
  • Participate in professional development workshops, activities and seminars.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Instructional Coach – Leadership Position

Eden Prairie Schools is seeking two full-time Instructional Coaches to work at Eden Prairie High School.  The Instructional Coach is a leadership position and has both content and instructional expertise in the integration and use of technology and the design of innovative programming.

Title One Teacher

Edina Public Schools has a part-time (25 hours per week) Title One Teaching position available at Cornelia Elementary School beginning August 2018. We are looking for a dedicated Title 1 teacher to support students at our diverse school.  Experience with and appreciation of students from racially, ethnically, and linguistically diverse backgrounds is desired along with an understanding of student’s unique needs.  This hourly position involves working with students in K-5 that are in need of academic support in reading, mathematics or writing.  Approximately 400 hours of teaching starting from mid-October through mid-April.

Candidates selected to fill the role of High School Art Teacher  Wayzata High School will be given the great responsibility of continuing our long standing commitment to academic excellence.  This will be achieved through the design and delivery of Art instruction that ensures the success of a diverse population of learners.  In addition, you will be responsible for building positive relationships and working collaboratively with students, parents, and staff members to foster a positive experience for the entire learning community.

Qualifications:Must have a valid MN License in High School Art.
Ideal candidates should have experience with multiple instructional designs and differentiated strategies that support diverse learners.
Must have strong classroom management skills with the ability to maintain a positive learning environment.
Must have the ability to build positive working relationships with students, parents, and staff.
Must be proficient with current technology used to support communication, academics, and student progress monitoring.
Ideal candidate will have experience with teaching Pottery, AP Pottery preferred.
