Educational Assistants provide support to the school that may include supervising students before and/or after school, supervising in the lunchroom, and supporting students in the classroom. This position will include supervising students who are unable to eat in the regular cafeteria due to detention assignment. It will also include supervising students in In-School Suspension. Lunchroom EAs help monitor students, clean cafeteria and prepare for the next lunch period. The Noon Supervision Educational Assistant needs to be able to handle student behaviors. In addition, Educational Assistants may provide support for the office, including running passes, covering for the CSO officer, or fill in as needed in other areas. Other Skills & Abilities: Provide a variety of suggestions in working with students in the school setting. Maintain flexibility in day to day dealing with staff and students. Maintain the confidentiality of all information regarding students. Perform duties within a tight daily schedule and with an awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies. Ability to deal effectively with students and teachers; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with teachers, parents, student and administrators. Oral and written bilingual skills preferred. Consistent and reliable attendance. Hours/Schedule: 5 – 5.75 hours per day/ Monday – Friday / Exact hours to be determined once schedules have been solidified.
