Foley Public Schools is accepting applications for a 1.0 FTE Social Studies Teacher for the 2018-19 school year.  Courses taught may be primarily United States History, but could include other courses within the department based on strengths of the individual.

Successful candidates for this position will:

  • enjoy working in a team environment;
  • have experience working with students, particularly at the high school level;
  • possess a high level of writing, speaking, listening and conflict resolution skills;
  • possess a valid MN teaching license or demonstrate the ability to obtain such.

Preference will be given to candidates seeking qualification or qualified and willing to teach Concurrent Enrollment courses.

Coaching and/or Advisor positions are also available but are not a requirement for this position.  Salary and benefits will be in accordance with the Master Agreement between Foley Public Schools and Foley United Educators.

May be combined with High School Activities Director.  225 day contract.  Position begins August 1, 2018.  Supervise 46 faculty and staff.  Provide leadership in development of curriculum and programs.  Supervise student placement, behavior, and activities.  Promote communications between school and home.  Administer grant programs.  Position may be combined with Activities Director.

1.0 FTE for the 2018-19 school year.

Minnesota licensure in Special Education is required. High School EBD – DCD preferred.

Background Information: The Cornerstones Program is a well-respected therapeutic setting for EBD program located in Buffalo, MN.  The program enrolls students from several districts and is multi-agency in nature.  The Cornerstones Program is part of the Meeker & Wright Special Education Cooperative (MAWSECO) #938.  The MAWSECO central office is located in Howard Lake, MN which is west of the metro and south of St.Cloud.
