Educational Data Analyst

This position manages and interfaces with multiple databases to support the Student Information Department. The Education Data Analyst partners with all other district departments to make informed data-based decisions. This position organizes, maintains and creates methods to display, report, and provide greater access to student information for administration, teachers, families and the community. PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 1.Extract, manipulate, and display electronic data elements into tables, graphics and other automated reports. Link multiple databases to query, derive, and generate custom reports as needed to support the Student Information Department. 2.Maintain and update databases to evaluate investments in student achievement programs, under the direction of Teaching and Learning and the REA Departments. 3.Maintain and develop district data warehouse reports. Create useable reports for varied audiences including School Board, Administrators, and the public in general. Represent multiple facets of educational outcome data into understandable reports that lead to specific action steps. 4.Exchange student information in a bi-directional method to update various systems on an ongoing basis. 5.Maintain consistent data input. Understand and recognize the importance of data integrity, audits, and techniques to ensure efficiencies and accuracy of data storage. 6.Development of complex data extraction. Write queries and code to pull educational data into manageable units to answer research and evaluation questions as well as compliance with data requests. 7.Provide organizational oversight including plan and schedule work so that resources are used appropriately and goals are met; schedule the flow of activities; establish procedures to regulate activities; and monitor projects to meet deadlines. 8.Support student information in the compliance with state and federal reporting requirements. 9.Provide formal and informal training in the use of both standardized software (i.e. Excel, Access, SQL Management studio) and customized applications to staff members for data collection, analysis and review. 10.Performs other duties as assigned.

Executive Director

The Board of Trustees of the Minnesota Teachers Retirement Association is conducting a search for a visionary leader to serve as its Executive Director. Reporting directly to the 8-member Board, the position serves as the Chief Executive Officer with responsibility for strategic business planning, administration and operation of the organization with 93 staff members. The main office is located in St. Paul with satellite offices in Detroit Lakes, St. Cloud, Duluth and Mankato. The Minnesota Teachers Retirement Association (TRA) administers a defined benefit program for nearly 190,000 active, deferred, disabled and retired public school teachers and some state university faculty throughout Minnesota, with $20 billion in assets. The executive director is responsible for managing the organization and acting as advisor to its board of trustees. The executive director also serves as a fiduciary on the State Board of Investment’s Investment Advisory Council which oversees the investment of state and pension assets of approximately $85 billion.

Director of VANTAGE

Position Overview: VANTAGE, Minnetonka’s Advanced Professional Studies program, provides junior and senior students with real-world experiences in professional settings, where they can learn and develop skills for high-demand careers. Transforming the high school experience, this innovative program is a year-long, two- or three-credit course of study where students learn through case studies, partner-directed projects, and immersion in a profession-based program. Since its inception in 2013, VANTAGE has grown to include six strands: Global Food Sustainability, Minnetonka Broadcast Channel, Graphic and Product Design, Business in a Global Economy, Business Analytics, and Healthcare and Sports Science. To be considered for the Director of VANTAGE, candidates must have the combination of business experience, the understanding of education practices, the experience working with high school students and the ability to lead, communicate and collaborate with educators. The proven ability to develop business contacts and excellent relationships with a variety of stakeholders must be evident, as is a demonstration of vision, innovation and successful growth of an entity or program. Successful candidates will have a passion for the mission as well as experience working with students. Job Duties and Responsibilities: Lead and inspire the VANTAGE leadership team and teaching staff to ensure the highest level of student success and performance. Provide work direction, support and feedback for VANTAGE staff. Develop strategic plans to grow and develop this unique partnership between business, post-secondary institutions, the community and public education to increase the relevance of high school curriculum and propel students into hands-on experiences in professional careers. Work closely with MHS Principal and Associate Superintendent to ensure alignment with District mission and vision. Nurture the creative, entrepreneurial and non- traditional culture of VANTAGE while remaining connected to and building relationships within the Minnetonka Schools. Provide oversight and leadership of the development of the curriculum and instruction for the VANTAGE program by ensuring the instructional objectives and assessments for each strand are developed and the appropriate instructional resources are secured. Market the VANTAGE program to Minnetonka students, private school, open enrolled students and home school students and oversee the development of new market driven curriculum. Engage the middle school and elementary students in ways that create a strong foundation for real-world learning and authentic problem-solving. Oversee the daily daily operations such as student support and facility management. Develop and retain business partner, projects, guest instructors, internships, and mentor relationships. Evaluate student progress in each of the VANTAGE strands and use data to improve student learning. Lead the VANTAGE Advisory Board and serve as a liaison with the broader community. Empower members to help grow the program partnerships. Design a program certification process that will clarify the value proposition while also growing the footprint for VANTAGE Develop and manage the budget for VANTAGE and anticipate future space and equipment needs. Oversee the registration and admission process including recommendations for teaching staffing needs. Promote the program by speaking at local, state, and national conferences and growing the brand both locally as well as on the East and West Coast. Design new strands for the VANTAGE program including opportunities for VANTAGE like experiences at other grade levels.
