SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Licensed School Nurse (LSN) and district policies, is responsible for implementation of individual student health plans, caring for ill and injured students, medication administration and maintaining student health records. Works with students, parents/guardians, and staff to maintain the health and well-being of all.

Speech and Language Pathologist (0.5 FTE) (Temporary)

Position Dates:  August 27, 2018 – June 7, 2019 (2018-19 school year)
Days/Hours:  1.0 FTE Monday through Friday
Responsible To:  Building Principal/Specialized Services

Position Purpose:  Provide services to children with exceptional educational needs, and to educate staff when children require occupational therapy to benefit from special education.  To improve, develop, restore, or maintain a child’s active participation in self-maintenance, work, leisure, and play in educational environments.

Licensure Requirements:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from a school accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association
Current certification from the National board for Certification in Occupational Therapy
Current Occupational Therapy license from the Minnesota Department of Health
Compensation and Yearly Duration of Employment:  Compensation will be determined by District 112 and the Chaska Education Association (CEA).

Background check will be conducted.
