Essential Functions: The Mentor Program Site Advisor is a responsible individual who will run, coordinate and organize all building mentor program activities in cooperation with and under the direction of the Elementary Curriculum Coordinator, aiming at flawless execution of the #656 Mentor Program. This individual will assist with the following responsibilities: * Meet bi-weekly with Curriculum Coordinator to plan meetings, communicate and collaborate timeframes, schedule and documentation. * Facilitate monthly mentee and mentor meetings, resources, paperwork and information. * Work in collaboration with mentees and mentors to identify and define programming. * Make certain that the needs of mentor program participants are met as outlined in the program. * Monitor and track program’s progress and handle any issues that arise on site. * Act as the point of contact and communicate adequately to all Mentor Program participants. * Use program management tools to issue and collect all appropriate paperwork, monitor hours, participation in program and responsibilities as outlined in the contract. * Create and maintain comprehensive program documentation, plans and reports. * Report to administration as needed.

Knowledge and Skills *Implements instructional activities that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences. *Identifies, selects, and modifies instructional resources to meet the needs of the students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs. *Assists in assessing changing curricular needs and offers plans for improvement. *Maintains effective and efficient record keeping procedures. *Provides a positive environment in which students are encouraged to be actively engaged in the learning process. *Communicates effectively, both orally and in writing, with students, parents, and other professionals on a regular basis. *Collaborates with peers to enhance the instructional environment. *Models professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, parents, peers, and community. *Ensures that student growth and achievement is continuous and appropriate for age group, subject area, and/or program classification. *Establishes and maintains cooperative working relationships with students, parents, and schools. *Assumes responsibility for meeting his/her course and school-wide student performance goals. *Demonstrates gains in student performance. *Meets professional obligations through efficient work habits such as: meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, coordinating, and participating in special events. *Other duties assigned by supervisor.
