Skills Needed: Thorough knowledge of subject(s) taught; thorough knowledge of secondary or special education principles, practices and procedures; thorough knowledge of the principles and methodology of effective teaching; thorough knowledge of District rules, regulations and procedures; ability to establish and maintain standards of behavior; ability to deliver articulate oral presentations and written reports; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, students and parents. Specific Tasks: Provide an ideal, positive learning environment with learning opportunities for students in academics with a comprehensive and global-based education. Instruct students in individual or group sessions providing students with multiple instructional strategies in various learning settings. Develop, translate and integrate lesson plans, content, technology and instructional materials into learning experiences; Develop student learning plans to meet student need. Establish positive relationships to be encouraging, guiding, coaching and supporting. Adapt teaching materials and methods to develop relevant sequential assignments that guide and challenge students. Identify, formulate, implement, and maintain behavior standards and modification programs for students. Enter and maintain records in software packages as required. Assess and evaluate students’ progress; maintain records; prepare progress reports and act as a monitor to students.
