Edina Public Schools has an opening for a Teacher for the AVID Summer Bridge program beginning June 2017. Responsibilities: Demonstrate solid content knowledge and pedagogical practices that reflect current research and best practices Use participating member districts current curriculum and National Standards to design a science curriculum for approval Teach the approved curriculum while respecting students’ rights to his/her own cultural, political, religious, or philosophical beliefs Create instructional goals that are connected to standards, are measurable, establish high expectations and are relevant to students’ lives Implement learning activities that are highly relevant, student active, and maintain organization while allowing for student choice Create and maintain a classroom environment that promotes caring and respect, is conducive to effective learning and meets the individual needs, interests and abilities of students Establish clear standards and classroom procedures for student behavior that address individual needs in a respectful, relational and proactive manner Provide feedback to students and parents that is accurate, constructive, substantive, specific, timely and provided in a manner that promotes students’ learning Demonstrate sensitivity to cultural differences and their influences on student’s behavior and success Use differentiated instructional strategies that are culturally responsive and meet students’ learning needs Adapts curriculum to reflect multicultural content and perspectives Professional Responsibilities: Establish and maintain effective and professional relationships with students, peers and parents Demonstrate effective written and oral communication with parents/guardians that displays cultural sensitivity Collaborate with others to improve professional practice and student achievement Care for district resources, equipment and materials assigned to him/her and report concerns regarding facility and equipment to the Coordinator Understand and practice School Board policies and adhere to federal and state laws that apply to his/her job assignment Provide direction and supervision for all school activities to which he/she is assigned Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by their supervisor or district administrator

Description: Cabinet Level Position Work Year: Full-time, 260 days per year; position will start on a mutually agreed upon date Position Summary: The Director of Elementary and Secondary Education shall provide leadership, supervision and direction of K-12 Elementary and Secondary Education programs to achieve the optimum educational and personal development of K-12 students consistent within District policies. The Director will also provide leadership to and supervise K-12 administration and work in conjunction with District Cabinet. Responsibilities: Provide leadership by directing and overseeing the implementation and evaluation of K-12 educational programs. Direct and supervise K-12 administrators in the leadership and administration of building level operations and educational programs. Develop, prepare and monitor the administration of K-12 educational programs, revenues and expenditures. Distribute budget allocations for K-12 division. Organize the selection, FTE assignment, staff development and evaluation of K-12 principals. Direct the staffing process for K-12 instructional staff and paraprofessionals. Participate on District Cabinet and various other committees to establish educational goals and assist in the development of educational policies and procedures and daily operations. Facilitate communication between K-12 principals, District personnel, K-12 staff and schools, and communicate with schools. Direct District processes related to the safety and health of students such as: resolution of conflicts between staff, parents and administration, and student behavior management. Plan, direct and implement Elementary and Secondary Education programs, functions, and processes including determining student attendance area school, exceptions to attendance, and program assignments. Performs related duties as implied by position or assigned by the Superintendent.

Morris Area Schools is accepting applications for a 1.0 FTE Agriculture Teaching Position beginning with the 2017-2018 school year. This position requires a valid Minnesota Teaching license. The position will be teaching a variety of agriculture courses along with involvement in a strong FFA program. Course assignments may include Horticulture, Ag Business, Animal Science, Food Science, Welding, Ag Leadership, Ag Processing, Natural Resources and Intro to Ag Coursework. Responsibilities will include developing lesson plans, conducting classroom instruction, evaluating and assessing both instructional material and student performance. Other responsibilities include developing strong SAE programs and cultivating community relationships with students. An extended contract will be provided for weekend and summer hours.
